We started a gite and chambre d'hotes business last year after alot of the usual renovations and modernising activity. The Gite did well via word of mouth with lots of repeat bookings. We are situated in Lot et Garonne region, near Nerac. We setup the pre-requisite website and advertised in C*** N****, however BnB business was very quiet, whilst we recognise the need to build momentum over time, we also suspect we may not have got the right marketing in place. Of course there are lots of advertisers chomping at the bit for additional coverage, however we wondered what your experience's were - did newspapers, france magazines, web, direct marketing, walking with placards in London or blogs work for you ?     

Thanks Twinkle and guys for an outstanding performance on Saturday evening!  We had weather, people, food and great music - a success all round!  It made passing the big 40 seem painless! Cheers
