The Office de Tourisme has an event on 21 August at the Champ du Foire in La Trimouille, starting with an artisanal market at 16H00. You can buy tickets on the day for the evening meal. The meal will be available from 19H00 (price: 12 Euro). There is then a free concert at 21H00 (female singer with a very varied repertoire: Beatles, Bizet, Edith Piaf, Shania Twain, Johnny Halliday, Ray Charles, etc). The meal and concert will be under cover. The Champ du Foire is next to the Camping site. Venez nombreux!

Later this month there is a free exhibition of ‘Peinture Artisanat’ plus a small exhibition of photographs showing historic La Trimouille. Here are the details: 18 – 26 July 2009 Every day from 2 pm to 7 pm On Sundays there will be art demonstrations from 11 am to 7 pm. Venue: Le Moulin de la Font, which is at the corner of rue du Moulin de la Font and rue Louis de la Trémoïlle. You can park in la Place de la Liberté by the bridge. The rue du Moulin de la Font is the little street between Panier Sympa and the hairdresser’s.

There is a Christmas Market on Sunday, 17 December in La Trimouille, Vienne – Place de la Mairie from 09.00 to 17.00. On sale there will be charcuterie, fromages, vins, miel, escargots, foie gras, bijoux, bibelots, poteries, tableaux and Christmas cakes. There will also be vin chaud and a tombola. Children can have a ride with Père Noël in his calèche. Venez nombreux! Regards Dee

Dear Pat I’ve just seen your message about line dancing. I live in La Trimouille. A group of us (all Brits at the moment – usually 5 of us) started line dancing about six months ago. We use a room at Sue’s house (next door to me). We have the music and the instructions. It’s more of a ‘self-help’ group than lessons so there’s no charge. We get together every Tuesday evening to practice. We meet at 8 pm and usually finish around 9.30 pm. If you’d like to join us one evening to give it a try, please let me know. Kind Regards Dee
