Not as yet because I don't have a spare phone and don't want to spend money on one that may or may not work. I'm trying to borrow one from a neighbour and if it works, will purchase one. This is the first problem I've had with the Philips in the 7 years I've had it. Worked fine with Cegetel.

A week or so ago I changed my ISP from Cegetel to Phonexpat. I have a Philips Magic-box phone/fax/answering machine (bought in France). In their set-up guide, Phonexpat state that some telephones do not give the France Telecom tone and it is necessary to dial ## and then the number you require. This is what my phone evidently requires and is not too much of a hassle for me.Yesterday a friend visited and mentioned that he had been trying to telephone me but after a couple of rings, he permanently got the engaged signal. He used his mobile phone to show me exactly what happened, and no, my telephone did not ring. He said he would ring via landline from his house at exactly 1900hrs and also send me a confirmation email that he had done so. At 1920hrs I checked, and yes, he had phoned but was unable to connect as before. I had been sitiing next to the phone, and it did not ring at all.I have contacted Phonexpat to see if they can offer an explanation (or solution) and am awaiting an answer, but wondered if in fact anyone else has had this problem?

If you simply want to read PDF files, I would recommend FOXIT Reader. It is a free, very small program and is brilliant. Their website also offers alternatives to Adobe Acrobat in other forms.I am not affiliated in any way, just a satisfied user.http://www.foxitsoftware.com/

Does anyone know of a supplier in or near the Aquitaine region? Not talking of wholesale, but I simply have a hankering for some!

I've just paid 400 Euros for 10 stere of oak in 2 metre lengths. This included delivery. Didn't realise it was so heavy or would have had it cut into 1 metre lengths (which would be extra cost).

Thanks chris pp - will give it a go. Never too old to try something new!

My local Casino has some Grenades which I understand are a type of pomegranate. I was amost tempted to purchase some but I haven't a clue how they are eaten!Someone told me to eat all of it including the pips, and somebody else said they weren't worth the bother.Anybody familiar with them?

I have seen quite a few similar to this in my garden. Some are bright green, and others are bright blue. They seem to 'nest. in some large bushes and can move like greased lightning.

Does anyone own one of these? I eat half a dozen yoghurts a day and thought that it might be worthwhile purchasing a machine instead. Has anyone any experience of using one, and how easy is it to ontain the basic ingredients?Any advice welcome please.

As an aside, I was plagued by wasps building small nests in my post box so I purchased some moth balls (Antimites) from my local Casino and they haven't returned since.

What exactly does this mean with relation to buying wood for burning(Bois de chauffage)? I suspect it is a measurement of weight, but havebeen unable to find the translation.

I use Ebay quite a lot and only use PayPal (or a cheque) for thepayment. It's quick and far less complicated than going to the bank(15Km each way) to arrange cash transfer.I ahve found that sellers in Germany/Holland/belgium will not acceptcheques drawn on a french account as it cost them too much inadministration.
