Yep,definately Savigné.
Thanks for the link BB. I've already been on that site but I see it's open for someone to add his/her name.
I've e-mail many times over the years, but only a handful of times has Monsieur Le Maire (René Massonnet) replied, it's normally the secretary. As it happens I e-mailed them yesturday, so maybe I will strike lucky and find out his/her name when they reply.
Thanks all,

Those school day hair do's always come back to haunt you.

Still hard at those matinee coats, ValB!! [;-)]

Or you could try www.pagesjaunes.fr
Type in 'immobilier' in the Quoi,Qui box, 17770 in the Où box, click Trouver, then click 'selectionner toutes les localités' top right of the list of place names box that comes up, wait a few seconds and a list of estate agents is shown, some with web sites.
Hope this helps.

Just google'd 'departments of southeast France' and found this:
South East France
[8-)]
Perhaps there isn't a definitive answer.

Lori, according to that map, Languedoc-Roussillon is in Southern France.
I would have said that Carcasonne was in the south rather than southeast because it's slightly more to the left than the right geographically.

I saw this browsing one of the forums recently.

Amazing.
I can't help thinking perhaps he's made a rod for his back.

I must be a slow typer!! Didn't see the replies of Judie and Russethouse.
I mean without a mortgage. He's been saving extremely hard.

Thanks Val_2,
My son who is 17yrs is interested in a house that is less than 15000€. You can guess the condition of the house by the price and is keen to get his teeth into a project. The way house prices are in the UK, he has been looking in France.
We are seeing our notaire next week, I will take your advice and ask him.

Does anyone know if there is a minimum age requirement when buying a house for cash.

Thanks all,
This has crossed my mind while trying to come to a decision, why the majority stay with EDF. Better the devil you know as some have said I think could be true. Staying with the previous owners choice I'm warming to. Not sure why, maybe because they were elderly rural people who were thrifty, so maybe their research led them to Sorégies, taking advantage of an appealing tarrif.
I'll shall keep muling it over for a few more days.

Thank-you Benjamin,

Thank-you Clair for the links, very useful.
Could I be so bold and ask forum members who they are with and why.

We are now exactly four weeks away from owning our house in France and putting some serious thought about the electricity.
From what I see written in the C de V, and I think I've understood it correctly, the previous owners were supplied by Sorégies. I believe that if we wanted to use EDF instead, we can, as we will be new owners. Is this correct?
At first, we thought we would continue with them as their tarrifs look quite good. We would only be interested with the 3kVA tarrif. But I have read (on a forum) that once you move away from EDF, you cannot return to them, is this still the case.
Does anybody know what the pro's and con's are of either supplier, please.

We had a similar problem with our two new kittens now a year old. I believe they feel the need to do their business just after they've eaten, so I observed their habits and true enough, just after they had eaten they headed straight for the tray. Our tray wasn't too far from the back door, so when they started to sniff, scratch or climb into the tray, I quickly picked him up and popped him outside. After a few days of this I got rid of the tray.
Another tip I've heard is to gradually move their tray closer to a door, but I've not tried this, so I don't know if it works.
We now put our one year old cats outside at night (when the tray was finally removed) as too often I would come down in the morning and find deposits. Not nice to wake up to! My old cat is fine at night so stays in, if he wants to.
I don't know of any products, I've just cleaned the carpets with carpet cleaner which seems to do the job. Luckily mine didn't use the furniture.
Thankfully they are trained now and naturally go to the door when they want to go out. With the nicer weather, I can leave the door open and they wander in and out as they please.
I hope this helps.

Bless you BB, you are so sweet.
I never met the last Maire, when we had arranged to meet him, he had to take an urgent dentist appointment.
I had a reply to my e-mail and it was the secretary who replied, so thank you both for going to such trouble to find this out for me.
