  1. The owner of the house we would like to buy is in dispute with a neighbour who is building a garage on land very near to the owner's property.  If this dispute is not resolved before the sale will the dispute (and consequent costs) be "passed on" to the  new owners? Has anyone had experience of this sort and can you offer any advice? I feel there was an article re something of the sort in Living France a few months ago.  Can anybody remember where?
  2. by the autumn I hope to be in my french home (permanently with luck).  Provided I keep "taking the tablets" - prescribed-( lots) I am in pretty good health:   What insurance company in their right minds will provide  ME with "Top up" insurance?  I'm retired on a state pension and have been told that some of my medication will be reimbursed 100 per cent.  If  this is true then how do I find which bits get what percentage back?
  3. my grandson went to the local maternelle from age 3 and as he hadn't long been speaking English my daughter decided that half a day was enough, but oh dear "everyone goes for the full 4 days".  There was compromise and now at 4 he does his full-time stint like everyone else.  He certainly doesn't speak French as well as he does English, but he's getting there and is at the stage where he corrects our French. There was a meeting at school last week to say "Everyone "is going on a trip  to La Mer - a journey of six hours and a stay of FIVE days. Is this normal for French  schools?  The ages of the children are from 3 to 10 or 11 years.  There only seems to be one set of parents ( no, not us, but we are wondering) who are not giving permission for this educational holiday. Has  anyone out there any knowledge of  these school trips, especially for the very young pupils?   davison.
