1.
I love to fish but the fishable days in the NE are fairly few without thermal gear, we had half a dozen BBQ's last 'summer' and days where we sat in the garden could again be counted on one hand. The beach isn't too important, nice river or forest walks or even around lakes are great. Spending time in France would also bring challenges, like learning French!
How right you are about the NE uk and suitable fishing days!! My other half went out this morning with warm clothing,  a flotation suit, thermal boots and his fishing gear plus copious amounts of hot coffee in thermos flasks. I, however chose to spend the day lazing around the house where it's warm and peaceful instead of going along with him as I usually would (I'm getting quite good at fishing) We long to leave the NE and live in France and hopefully will do one day.
  2. Thank you for the replies. We'll certainly be taking some of the advice and are glad that archery is alive in France.
  3. Hi, we're hoping to move to France at some point this year but can't seem to find much information about certain types of businesses. My partner is a fully qualified joiner and we presently have a business making and fitting saunas and steam rooms. We've searched the net to try and find out what the market might be for these but not found anything so far. Although he'd be happy to go back into general joinery or construction work. We also have a sideline of the business making handcrafted traditional Longbows, but again are unsure about the possibilities of being able to continue that in France. We can find information re guns and the laws on guns but nothing on our beautiful longbows. Any advice would be appreciated. Our french is very basic so far unfortunately. B

    Horse Feeds

Hi and thanks for that info. My main worry is that the 3 boys get stressed while travelling as they rarely go in the horsebox to be honest. My arab x enjoys travelling but does kick in the box when it's not moving (he's odd and complex lol), my friesian x has always been a nervous type and the yearling on the other hand seems to take everything in his stride! Would I be better off sedating them for the journey? B

    Horse Feeds

Not so much of a query about horse feeds but does anyone have good advice about moving horses from the Uk to france? We're hoping to move this year to the Limousin area and would like to bring our 3 dogs and 3 of our 4 horses with us. Unfortunately our old pony is close to 25 years old and has never been a good traveller and has a few health problems so it may be better for him not to come with us. Any advice would be appreciated. All of the animals are microchipped and had their vaccinations.
