  1. hi pammy really nice to have a reply from someone!!! first off, the sun has just come out which can only be a big plus!!! i've been living in france for about 5 years now, different regions for different reasons, and i've been in angers since last august..it is indeed a lovely place, and from what i've seen of the département and the loire valley, it's really quite stunning....my social life is pretty much non-existant (hence why i'm seeking english pals on the internet!!) but that's more or less because without work or much money to go out, meeting people is not easy!!! angers is, however, full of students, and there is a lot going on all the time, but still, despite the fact i speak fluent french, it's just not that simple to get chatting to people...funny that! retiring to france is, i think, much simpler than trying to live and work here...we are all aware how complicated and at times, utterly absurd, the french administration can be, and this doubles if you try to enter into their work system...i have had nothing but trouble and am still not working, and i passed a FRENCH diploma IN FRANCE and IN FRENCH last year!!! good luck with all your hopes and dreams, and i am sure that your new home will provide you with many happy years in the furure.... keep in touch petitekatka
  2. hi there...i am indeed new to this forum, so i thought it would be an idea to introduce myself in the hope that someone might respond...i am living in Angers, desperately seeking work, not finding things all that easy, but then who does, and my mum, who lives in northen france, suggested i try posting a message here to introduce myself and to see if there are any other anglais in or around Angers or Maine et Loire or, hey, why not open things up completely, the pays de la loire????... don't be shy, hope to hear from someone soon!!
