  1. Hi

From what I understand (and I could well be wrong as I usually am hehehe), the changes took place for the tax yr commencing 2009, although I am led to believe (from the impots, which was listed in the small print at the back of the 2009 impots guide lol) that gites with an official classification (prefecture, GDF etc) remain on the 71/29 split 'vente de merchandises' and all others go to the service side at 50/50. But like amos, I too am happy to be corrected!!!! Although if memory serves, I seem to recall someone posted the new changes on here last Jan (can't remember if it just applied to 'professionelle micros etc). If in doubt, maybe a visit to the local impots may help!
  2. Hi Russethouse, thanks for your reply. i have had a look at the link, but they are nothing like the one shown. No sign of red that I could see, just two shades of brown, dark and darker! I did think I had spotted a couple of white specks on the tip of the tail and head, but on closer inspection with binoculars, nothing! They tend do more hopping around the garden and take flight in much the same way as a blackbird and are slightly bigger. Will keep a lookout tomorrow to see if I spot any other marks. Thanks again

  3. Hi everyone, I have had visiting my garden over the last few days a pair of birds which at first sight are similar in colour/size to female blackbirds. They are both brown, with the underside a lighter shade of brown, (but not much lighter) almost velvety looking, large with quite 'rotund' bodies. One is distinctly larger than the other and I have just seen them doing what could only be descibed as a possible mating dance! I have three books on brids in Europe and cannot find one that resembles them. They appear in the mornings and again in the evenings. Any help with identification greatfully appreciated, many thanks in advance

  4. Hi, where are you in dept 17, I am just outside Gemozac and had a thought that if you wanted to see the quality etc of the blinds I sourced from an online shop in the UK you're more than welcome to call in, just let me know before hand by PM and we can organise it. I also know of a shopping service available in Gemozac who travel back and forth to uk to collect goods/shopping, pm me if you want their contact details to discuss details direct with them. Happy shopping
  5. Hi

I have seen them in Mr Bricolage and other bricos, but they are quite expensive. I had made to measure blackout vertical blinds in the UK via an online company and even with the extra delivery charges (complicated as they only del in the UK so used a company who do regular trips to france) they worked out substantially cheaper! I had a rough quote for one occultant blind made to measure 2..5 * 2.5 mtr and the cost was over 700e!!!! I got all my blinds (3 the same 2.5 size and one smaller) for just a little more! There are a couple of online shops in France who do vertical blinds if you wanted to compare the costs. If you are able to have the blind made to measure with a UK shop and dewl to a Uk address, it may be cost effective to have it collected by one of the many uk shopping services that are available. Hope this helps, happy shopping
  6. Hi Thebiga

I too was advised the same as you and finally made the leap this yr after lots of research and calls to RSI with 'this can't possibly be right' questions!! I was sceptical at first and thought it was too good to be true as all the info I came across referred to a status change to AE, but as an existing Micro BIC professionelle, I qualified to pay cotisation via the regime Micro Simplifie at 12% of actual revenue every 3months whilst keeping my tax/business status as a micro bic professionelle. If I was on the same for last yr, I would have saved a similar amount as you have been quoted as in real terms, I paid 53% and not 45% in cotisations, and this yr it would have been nearer 60% as there is a minimum contribution that RSI didn't mention. I guess only time will tell if I have made the right move, but on calculations based on previous and projected turnover, I would benefit greatly. Hope this helps, as I said, it is based on my situation and yours may be different, but I think if you are a professionelle Micro BIC she is saying you qualify, but as with any advice, take advice as more often that not, we could be wrong and every situation is different!!! Good luck

  7. Hi Danny

many thanks for your link, I have had a good read and translated and interpreted that I may be able stay as a micro bic for tax, although I feel I may well be wrong!! Will wait and see what comes back from the RSI peeps then probably contact the impots as well. I have gites so my micro bic professionelle falls under 'commerce' and I will benefit greatly by declaring the cotisations under the micro social. I completed the form before end of last yr (as it had to be done then for this yrs cotisations) after being advised by RSI that I stay as a micro bic, it is only now I have had the confirmation letter and booklet that alarm bells are ringing about whether the info I received was correct. Thanks again for the link and I will keep you posted if I get anything back from RSI

  8. Hi everyone

Sorry if this has been done to death, have tried searching and read various links, but still cannot find an answer to my question! Here goes.............as an existing Micro bic enterprise professionelle, I have been advised/told by the chap who deals with the cotisations at RSI that I can take advantage of the regime 'micro social simplifie' for the cotisations paid at 12% on the 'chiffre d'affaire' (as opposed to the 45.5% of 'benefice') and continue to declare my revenue to the tax man as a micro bic professionelle. I have been looking for a definitive answer as to whether or it is correct (left hand right hand scenario!!) as the info I have read would seem that they are two seperate regimes and cannot be 'mixed'. There is always the possiblity the chap from RSI is correct and I have completly misunderstood the information, which is definately possible!!!! I have emailed the RSI to get a written answer but in the mean time if anyone knows if this is correct or of any websites where I can ask the question for a simple yes / no answer, I would be very grateful. Many thanks in advance for any replies/advice
