1.
One of the things that turns many members here right off instantly, is to feel they have been used, that is why active contribution to a thread by the original poster works best, IMHO. In what subject are hoping to gain further academic qualifications?
I didn't think nor intend it to be that way, but can understand that point of view. Apologies then, no harm intended. From what I've seen as an active member even a mod once in Japan and Singapore when I lived there, the online communities' members who are mostly non-locals in these countries, mostly exchange info, collaborate, help each other, etc. And I suppose it would be interesting to observe how the exchange of info as part of learning from each other works here for example, in terms of topics and how the dialogue is done.
 2.
Ahem.......active response from the original poster peut-ĂȘtre ?[:)][:)][:)] http://www.completefrance.com/cs/forums/2/621424/ShowPost.aspx#621424
;) Actually no, just for research purpose.
 3. I need to have a particular movie and literature like a text (from a book like Shakespeare's work or a text-based case study like the one used by business schools/MBA programmes) to be viewed by participants in an experiment study for free legally. How can I do that by any chance? For the movie, I was thinking to put a link to a website where people can watch some movies online for free. That shouldn't be illegal, I reckon? I haven't found the website that has the movie I was looking for: The Merchant of Venice and WallStreet or Other People's Money. I've tried peekvid etc. but still no luck so far. Any recommendations on these kind of websites would be appreciated heaps. For the literature, I'm looking for again The Merchant of Venice literature or one of these case studies used by business schools/MBA programmes. If I purchase my own copy and make that copy of mine available for others to view, would it be illegal?
 4.
Thought for the day: There is more money being spent on breast implants and Viagra today than on Alzheimer's research. This means that by 2040, there should be a large elderly population with perky boobs and huge erections and absolutely no recollection of what to do with them.
This errr finding definitely generated some responses at least :D
 5. This is Floozy again. Been drifted for some time, but I'm back :) maybe will stick for a while even. I couldn't get into INSEAD cause of the GMAT, they're asking for 700! I had a gut feeling I could get 650 but then I got only a bit higher than 600 so INSEAD was out completely :( I basically only applied INSEAD and Lyon. My hesitation to apply to HEC cause of the cost. My job was quite stressful, so I couldn't bring myself to study for the GMAT, so I had to pay for the course, plus taking GMAT twice (the 2nd time I took it, in the middle of the English part, which was the part I got lower mark than the Math part, my bloody migraine stroke, so I even got less than 600!). Plus I didn't get a strong impression from the admission what HEC is actually strong in... Anyways, another hesitation was caused by a bond to work back home (one of what is considered to be a 3rd world country let's say) for 5 years plus to set aside US$500/month for I can't remember exactly now but about 20 years I reckon, since my tuition and living expenses are going to be paid by a scholarship fund I have from an organisation back home. So I was actually thinking to let it go.. I had another scholarship offer to obtain MSc (my background is sort of related to IT in my undergrad, and I have been wanting to set-up my own online business in the future) by doing master by research. Have been in touch with the school, but what really bugs me is that it seems the supervisor for this kind of postgrad student (also on the PhD level) is the only person who can and will determine whether you will get your degree or not. And that sounds a little too restrictive for me. So I decided to take the scholarship for the MBA and so I'll be in Lyon from end of Aug for one year! Now, the problem is how to find a place, a room even I don't mind either in a dorm or in a flat for students? I have a scholarship but it's only enough for monthly expenses it seems. Plus I'm still single so a room for myself will do. Anybody here lives in Lyon by any chance? Do you guys meet offline sometimes. I don't know anybody in Lyon actually, so to be able to attend the forum rendezvous would be nice.
 6. Am curious, some threads would not have at all or very few responses, but some threads would go on and on for pages even. So what do you think what has to be there in the thread(s) to get heaps of responses? To get the dialogue going, that is.
 7. A group of volunteers including me under an NGO umbrella are going to set-up an ICT interactive library in a primary school (for now only one school as a pilot project). The materials are offline study materials stored in CDs or DVDs or any other medias so that internet connection is not needed considering it's still dial-up back home! Now we're trying to figure out to make some proposals to present to companies or institutions and/or NGOs to invite them to be our sponsor(s). Most of the volunteers are working back home, whereas I'm the only one in Singapore. Am thinking to approach companies here in Singapore and other countr(ies) where I used to live in and have friends living there still (a friend knows a big NGO in France for example), but I'm not experienced in this yet, so am trying to figure out what kind of proposal to be made and what kind of incentives can be given to these companies or institutions to convince them to be our sponsors, I wonder? Any tips are appreciated. Cheers ears!
