  1. Hi,   Back in S. of France for the first time since last year and picking up on all the chat about pool alarms/fencing - can anyone tell me what the regulations are when applied to family owned property, let to friends/family only ( ie no charge made ) with a 5m x 8m pool built in 2003 ?   Will
  2. Charles,   In that case I am being ripped off  ( I am paying 400 euros for the 125cc)    Do you have a lot of 'no claims' & who are you insured with ?   Will
  3. I agree, the South ( and more specifically the Riviera ) is full of big bikes ( including a Hermes leather finished Harley that I saw last year - avoid the rain showers ! )  The bikers that used to ride down South 10 years ago now seem to trailer their bikes down behind their BMW saloons ( I know that's ageist ) As to cost, secondhand bikes seem to be about the same price as the UK, although my experience is that insurance seems to be a lot more expensive. I insure a French registered 125cc Yamaha Trailway that costs roughly double the yearly premium I pay for a 650cc Aprilia Pegaso Trail in the UK !
  4. Hi,  Dont know if it's of any help, but I have been using Ad-Aware SE Personal edition for some years and it apprears to do the job. If you go to http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-SE-Personal-Edition/3000-8022_4-10045910.html?part=dl-ad-aware&subj=dl&tag=top5 you can read the reviews before downloading - best thing is it's free, although there is an upgrade with more features that does cost.
  5. Thanks Mike & Charles - that's very helpful
  6. I am trying to decide whether to buy or rent ( long term ) a motorcycle for the time I spend in the South of France. To enable me to make a decision, can anyone tell me whether a motorcycle ( I am thinking of 650cc ) requires a cĂ´ntrole technique certificate in the same way that a French Registered car does ?
