Hi ,
I have managed to register online for submission but it won't allow me in to fill the form as it keeps rejecting my husband's social security number - I assumed this to be the number on his carte vitale. Have I got this wrong? Please can somebody tell me. As far as I know we have never received notification of a specific SS number.
Would be very grateful for any input.

Oh my goodness - I have just this afternoon returned from the UK and we DO have a Tax Return which, according to a fellow artisan must be filed by 1st April - although I can see no date anywhere on the forms.
Form Numbers are:- 2031, D.G.I. 2033-A,D.G.I. 2033-B, D.G.I. 2033-C, D.G.I. 2033-D, D.G.I. 2033-E, D.G.I. 2033-F, D.G.I. 2033-G
Please, please can someone tell me what the penalty will be for late filing as there is no way I am capable of switching back into 'bookwork' mode this evening. This is our first tax return since my husband registered and I am scared witless about getting it horribly wrong.

She was soooo right about pretty much all the little wisdoms she passed on to me.
Sadly I lost my Mum to cancer on 17th March 1979.

Did you buy your place in Jumilhac - we live just 8k away from Jumilhac in a lovely little commune called Saint Priest les Fougeres and we love it here. Let me know what sort of things you'd like to know and I'll try to give you some answers, they will obviously be very biased though!
We came to France for the first time about 4 years ago to visit relatives and fell in love with the Dordogne - It has all the beauty of Wales with the added plus of definate seasons (usually).
Wish it would stop raining so I can get back to work on my veg patch.

Hi all,
Can you not ask to pay monthly - it is still crippling for a new business but makes it slightly easier to budget.
Mind you with all the wet weather we've had so far this winter my husband has only managed to work a few weeks (this is his first winter as an artisan and it's all outside work - will definately plan better for next winter).
He is owed money by a client which should have covered cotisations. We are now having to draw money from British credit card to pay his cotisations, this means we will have to pay to transfer money back to the UK to pay the flipping thing - but it does give us a little breathing space. Talk about robbing Peter to pay Paul!!!

I think for the high polished finish you would need a water fed grinder - don't know if you'd be able to one of these machines though as it's pretty specialised.
For a smallish area ie worktops and suchlike you could use a carborundum spinner followed by wet and dry, going from very course to very fine grade but it is very time consuming and messy.

If you put marble chips in the mix it will look stunning as they will twinkle and shine after polishing with the machine.
Lots of floors in Italy and Florida are laid like this - it is called Terrazo (spelling may not be accurate).
You should be able to buy the marble chips at a reasonable price and it will lift the floor from 'good' to 'fantastic'

Very true Dick - I'm not going to complain though cos we have had our account for over 3 years and have never yet been charged a monthly fee as many others seem to have.
The only fees they have ever charged me are 5 euro something for new cheque books and even they were free until the middle of last year - we were getting through them at a rate of knots so decided to get a debit card for which we had to pay 32 euro.
On the whole not unhappy with the service we get from them.
