check with your local Maire, we did 3 next septic thanks last year, and the government (water company?) paid 60% of the total cost, but of course the job has to be done accordingly to them. It might have been only a local project (the money came from Perigueux), but it's worth to check. Massimo

has anyone built a conservatory here in France? (i guess here they are called 'serre'). I am not sure if i can add cubic meters to my house, but maybe a 'serre' doesn't count on the volume? I will first ask my neighbours if they have any objection, then check with the Mairie. has anyone rented their own gite through 'Country-Cottages in France' or 'Crystal Holidays'? we are just buying a new place and we will be in the 2002 Chez-Nous brochure, but we are not sure if this will be sufficient or if it's safer to be with a big company ,but some (eg crystal holidays), require the exclusive for bookings until the end of february. We will be living in the area all year round, and as this will be our main occupation, we hope to have a long rental season. Tracy & Massimo
