I am looking for suppliers of roofing tiles called bardeaux bitumeux and also reliable and reasonably priced roofing contractors who would be able to replace an existing roof which currently has these tiles on. I live in the Correze area of France. Any help on this matter would be grately appreciated. Thanks Terry

Hi Everyone Thanks for the information.  We received our bill about two weeks ago.  Still no wiser as to why it has increased so much.  As our French is not very good we would find it difficult trying to get any information if we tried to speak to anyone.  Might put something in writing and see what comes of it!  Otherwise I think it might be a case of searching down the side of the sofa for any spare cash!! Hi, Has anyone else received their Taxes Foncieres for 2005 for the Viegois Commune, and if so has it increased by a massive 100%! Does anyone know the reason for this increase.  Grateful for any help on this matter. Thanks

Do you think it necessary to speak French as my French is very limited a...[/quote] Hi Lizzie We bought a house two years ago over looking the river in Vigeois.  We discovered the property on the internet so did not go through an agent.  Vigeois is very convenient in its location in that you can visit a variety of places and not have to travel very far.  The train station in Viegois is also very handy to get about should you not feel like driving.  You can get connections to Paris or Toulouse.   We have very good neighbours who are extremely friendly and helpful, they are French.  We have also been told that there a quite a number of English people owning properties locally but do not know many of them.  Hope you manage to find a property and have as much enjoyment as we have in owning our house.
