  1. Hi Finally getting back into the work situation after the death of my wife from cancer last year and need some help from those well informed. Basically: 1. I live in France and my only home is here - so my centre of financial interest is in France. 2. I don't work in France but work for a UK based company in the UK as well as engaging in other overseas work for that UK company. I contacted the UK Inland Revenue who said UK tax and UK NIC apply. He said that I won't then have to pay French NIC as well but will should declare my income to Les Impots on the French tax return to see if any further tax would be due there after any UK tax credit had been applied. Does anyone have any different experience of this or more info. I used to be freelance but I decided to go PAYE as I was led to believe that the French tax non salaried people as if they were rock stars. Thanks folks. Mark
  2. I have just taken delivery of my new car from a French web site called www.elite-auto.fr Although I had to wait quite a while because my car was a new model there were no other problems. I received a discount of 11% on my Audi A4 and the best 3 different dealers could do was 4%. Much bigger discounts are available on French cars (e.g) up to around 22% in some cases. If anyone wants any more feedback then drop me an email. Regards Mark Trambly (Dept 71)
  3. Yes this may have been covered but despite various historical searches through the archive I couldn't find the correct answer. Here goes:  I live in France and am treated as being domiciled there as it is my only residence and I don't live in any other countries.  What I do though is work as an employee for a UK registered company but never in France.  So I must pay UK NIC and UK tax.  The UK have told me that I must declare to France my earnings but any contributions will be taking into account.  The UK guy said that I wont have to pay social contibutions in 2 countries.  He said that I should apply for a E106 for health cover in France.  What do the forum have to say to this. Regards to all. Mark
