Hi,
Request noted. At present the software doesn't have a 'post since last visit' within 'active', only on individual forums - not sure about future editions, have asked developers to investigate this.
However, if it did you would still have the latest posts displayed for that particular period, even with a 'mark as read' feature, any new posts added would still show (just like the active page) as you wouldn't have read them.

I would be interested to know if anyone reads digital magazines on screen rather than hard copy (paper) versions? I guess it is a good way of getting over delivery timescales etc or if the publication is only available in specific geographical regions?

The scammers usually set up a subdomain of a particular IP. The scammers also usually give you a tight deadline to give your account details.
For example, I had an 'update your account' type email allegedly from Paypal...the link was along the lines of (but this is only an example) : http://paypal.accountdetailsupdate.com/etc.etc. so it looks legitimate but if you look, the domain wasn't paypal it was a subdomain of the real IP address (in this example - accountdetailsupdate.com)...so be careful.
As Nick rightly says - Paypal claim never to send you these emails so if in any doubt contact Paypal (or whoever else) before doing anything! You can report these fake emails and IP addresses to Paypal, which I did at the time.

I took it that Will meant the post icons on threads themselves, not the indicator of new posts etc. They would be more difficult to remove as they are integrated within the software.

Looks like you have cut and pasted the ones from the bottom, instead you just need to select them from the drop down box called: Insert Smiley

I actually noticed the speed difference so I think it was a good idea to remove some of them. The re-introduction of the old smilies (which are quarter of the size) will help speed as well.

Hi Dotty, you need to use the drop down list for inserting into the post itself, the ones at the bottom are for the title of the post.

I understand the problem now....it is the edit message window that is causing the problems as it is looking for a specific folder. The normal reply is OK.[;--)]

If you look carefully Tresco you will see I have added the old wink as a test![;--)]

I can remove icons in general but will need to talk to developer about just post icons (as apposed to all icons within posts as well).
If everyone is happy I could significantly reduce the number of icons...do we really need them all? I could cut down to 10 or so?
Tresco, I think I have found away of adding the old icons instead...[;)]...
EDIT: The new icons seem to be 4 times the size of the old icons! There are 12 in corsica that we could have instead?
Shall I put it to a vote??

Hi,
You can see if particular members are online as the icon next to their name in a post will be lit.
There is no members list as such as the forum is shared with 50+ other Archant websites...ours being just one branch of the forum 'tree'..

But it looks like you have got the hang of it now.
The permissions were set wrong on the 'read only' forum and allowed you to post...I have changed those permissions now...I didn't realise, so thanks for letting me know. [:)]
