We have a little cottage 10 minutes drive from Dinan - 3 miles to the nearest shop - best of all worlds. We reckon we were taken for a bit of a ride on the price and paid 'Brit' prices. The old boy down the road who originally owned and sold off parcels of his estate years ago almost had a heart attack with laughter when he heard what we were paying - I think his reply was the only English he has ever spoken and sounded something like "stupid *** English" - we still let him believe we are English. However, it is what we wanted and we don't regret it. We are still new to the experience and would welcome contact from anyone else in the area. We will willingly share our buying experiences privately(we are not intending to go public and do the website bit just yet - we are however grateful to those who have done so. We are off to Britanny tomorrow (17th)for two weeks having had to transfer from Cherbourg to Le Havre due to P&Os demise (most inconvenient as it puts an extra hour on travel) - Also doing  a pilgrimage to Stade de France a week Saturday - with tickets - P&S
