  1. having paid married womans stamp almost all of my working life my state pension is MINIMAL( if I had it paid to me in France the bank charges would be more than it!!) but I am now the proud (and relieved) owner of my E121. I would think you may well be in the same boat DWP were very helpful, Good luck Sheila
  2. Hi , Slightly late but we did exactly this last year. Bought a new car from the dealer in Calais 2 months before we moved over, mostly handled via internet and phone (It took about 6 weeks to do the whole purchase from start to finish with delivery times etc) They sorted out the carte Grise for Manche and I organised french insurance via the internet. The insurers needed carte grise details but had everything set up ready for the faxed document with no problems so it all went very smoothly. Biggest problem was getting the letters from UK insurers to confirm our NCB as we still had our UK cars initially. good luck, Sheila
  3. I haven't been to any of them but Carentan are advertising one the weekend of the 18/19 Dec, St Lo has one from the 4th Dec, on a Russian theme this year, complete with Russian stall holders and the tourist office in Bayeux told me there is one there as well, I don't know when that will be. Lots of the villages around here are holding small ones perhaps more in line with a village fair in the UK. I don't think any of them can compete with the German or eastern France ones but there are certainly some around. enjoy! Sheila:
  4. Does anyone know what this glue is called over here and who stocks it ?(preferably a chain or somewhere near St Lo) So far we have drawn a blank, even with a French data sheet! We are looking for the 5 litre  boxes that we could get at most DIY stores in the UK. Thanks
