  3. I know this has probably been answered, but I can't find it! I  am getting a phone installed in my second home in Normandy in May. I have an AOL unlimited account (Broadband) in the UK. I have a laptop with AOL9 installed. What do I have to do to get online ? Also do I need some special leads? If so where can I get them? Many thanks
  4. I support Speedferries, but just thought I'd mention something about the freeticket offers! Having bought a number of tickets before and being eligible for a freeticket and Mr W wanting to go over for a few days to take over wood for shed or something, I though that a Wednesday Dover to Boulogne  on 11th May and Saturday back may just be right. But has to be Tues, Wed or Thursday each way and booking now not even £38 or £50...but £68 for those few days ( £10 extra for booking on the phone ) I am not sure what booking for school holidays will be this year, so worth checking. Still cheaper than the tunnel , but is a little more than we thought!
  5. I have been reading some old threads about inviting French neighbours to parties with a buffet. The comments seems to be that 'the French' don't seem to understand this type of do and want to sit at table and chairs. It can therfore be a bit difficult. We are planning a 'do' next month to which we are inviting friends and family from the UK, English friends in France and also French neighbours. We were planning a 6.30pm start with aperos and nibbles , and then a buffet table (English and French) starting about 8pm. I thought as some neighbours are very elderly , they may not want to stay all evening. They can if they want to of course ! This is partly because we have now completd the major work on the house, so it is a sort of housewarming party. Could someone advise on appropriate wording for an invite to the French neighbours ...and any tips on managing the evening. Trying to seat 30-40 people is not an option!! Thanks Gaynor
  6. We have a house in the area. I have left a message in your private in box. Welcome to the Orne! Gaynor
