  1. I quite agree.  They were quick to remove my posting asking why they allowed blatantly un-registered businesses to advertise their trades but, as you say, will insist on the law being adhered to with regard finding good homes for unwanted animals.  Could it have something to do with the fact that they are making some money out of those businesses but not from those poor unwanted animals?  Surely not![6]

  2. Walking round the local market I cam across someone who had some Guinea Pigs for sale.  They were very small and very dirty so, although we already have Guinea pigs (female) I decided to offer a home to two of these poor little creatures.  I quite clearly stated I wanted females only, but it turned out that one of them was a boy.  By the time we realised he had already done the rounds with our girls (as small as he was)[:$] and so now we have a selection of babies which are free to loving homes only.  They make lovely pets for children of all ages.  Unlike rabbits, gerbils etc they don't bite (at least I have never been bitten by one) and I have kept Guinea Pigs since I was a child.  They greet you with squeeks when they have learnt the sound of your voice (sweet) and looked after properly they are not smelly like some other pets.[+o(]

  3. Not a French recipe but if you have a glut of Tomatoes, Onions, Green Peppers and Apples:

    Spiced Tomato Relish

    1lb Tomatoes

    1 Green Pepper

    1lb Onions

    1lb Apples

    12oz White Sugar

    1 Chilli

    Half Pint White Distilled Vinegar

    1tblsp Paprika

    1tsp Cayenne Pepper

    1tblsp English Mustard

    Half tsp Mixed Spice

    1tblsp Salt

    6oz Tomatoe Puree

    Increase quanitities as preferred.

    Method

Dip Tomatoes in boiling water for 1 minute, remove skins, chop up.

Remove pips from pepper and chilli. Cut up pepper, chilli, onions and apples.

Put these in pan with vinegar and simmer until tender and thick, about 30 minutes

    Add all other ingredients

Boil for approx 3minutes - I don't find this too hot - don't like stuff that takes out the back of your throat!!!

    Put in Jars

    Eat and enjoy.

Lovely used in soups, sauces, curries etc.  Or cold with cold meats.[:-))]

    Hi Simon,

Sorry, have been away.  You are looking for Ecole Prive if you want a Catholic School.  However, don't be put off by the Prive part.  It's nothing like English Private school,  price wise.  Our children were the only English children when we arrived and they were warmly welcomed and very quickly settled in even though their French ability was almost non existant.  They love it here and have no desire to return to the UK.[:D]

    Good luck with your move.

  7. That's it.  DVD arrived in the post on Thursday and has been on the TV almost constantly since.  The kids absolutely adore them - can't get enough!  Better than McFly I've been told - Who the hell are they?????  Will we know in twenty years from now I wonder.[:-))]

I can see you are very much in love but I'd change the venue.  It looks like they need sawdust on the floor  or was this photo taken in the 60's? Psychodelic man[blink]

  9. Well, if nothing else, the Sausages are nice.[:-))]  Some are a bit highly strung but I like the spicy ones myself - no manners though, they have a tendancy to spit![+o(]
  10. Not only did I find a home but an EXCELLENT one at that.[:D]  I already know the lady who is going to take them and she loves animals to bits and is a highly responsible owner.  Ican rest assured that they will be loved, cared for and neutured/spayed when the time comes.  I couldn't have wished for better.  They will stay with me for another week or so as they were very thin and distressed.[:(]  The "runt" or Gismo as we have called him fell asleep in my sons arms this evening, on his back, legs splayed out, totally relaxed (the cat that is).  The other two were  playing tag up my newly refurbished armchairs.[6]
