  1. Thanks anyway.  Due to the problems with P&O and the fact that they have changed their timetable hubby now has to be at Cherbourg earlier than normal which means there is no connecting train from Lison.  This now means dragging the children all the way to Cherbourg and back.  He would look at Brittany Ferries but they are more than just a little bit more expensive than P&O for a foot passenger.

  2. Hi, are there any kind souls out there who are travelling to the UK on the Sunday evening (17th) P&O crossing that would be able to offer my hubby a lift to Cherbourg?  We live near Hambye although we could meet up in the area, ST Lo for instance.  Any offers of help gratefully received.  Many thanks.
  3. I am a Microsoft engineer working in Nomandy and have used the following to resolve the problem of Outlook/Outlook Express not saving passwords.  It worked for me, you may like to give it a try although positive results are not guaranteed.  Follow the instructions on the link below.

This works with Windows XP Pro, Service Pack 2 and Microsoft Office XP Pro.

  4. I think I'd be more concerned about genetically modified crops and animals going into the food chain than something flushed down the loo a few months ago that has already begun to break down.  Lets face it, you see french people relieving themselves all over the place.  I can't help thinking there are more important things to worry about.
  5. Can anyone out there give me an idea of the cost of agricultural land in Manche?  Our neighbour is selling up and in addition to a good size garden she also has some land which we would like to buy if the price is right.  The house is currently a holiday home and the additional land is not used by the owner. I think she will be having the property valued over the next few weeks.  Will the property price be badly affected if we bought the land?

    Thanks all

  6. Hi out there,

We have recently taken on board yet another kitty seeking a good home.  We picked her up at the local boot sale.  After much discussion the children finally settled on a name for her, here goes.....Fifi Peaches Trixabel Apricot Fluffybottom!!  You may have gathered from this that she is female with a beautiful peaches ad cream complexion and does indeed have a fluffy bottom.  My opinion is, that if she wants feeding and a cuddle then she'll answer to Puddy (as in I tawt I saw a Puddy tat) or go without!  We now have 7 chickens, 5 Guinea Pigs, 4 cats, 1 ****erel (called Kellogs) and a 10 month old Jack Russell/Labrador cross puppy.  Aaaaaagh........

Anyone else taken on unwanted animals this year?  If so, what names did you come up with?

  7. I am sat here watching the news with tears streaming down my face.  I find it so hard to believe that anyone can inflict this suffering on a single child let alone a whole school full of children from toddlers to teenagers.  My heart and thoughts are with the children and families in Russia.  May we find  a way to come together in this world and work for the greater good.  Hoping for too much do you think?  I hope not!  If we continue the way we are going I don't think the human race can look forward to any kind of future.  What in all our God's names do we think we can acheive with this kind of behaviour.  It resolves nothing.
