  1. I wasn't sure where to post this, so I thought I'd try the "local" thread first.  We have a fermette in Pas-de-Calais and was wondering how I go about finding out how old it is - short of finding a date engraved on a beam, what else can I try?  Are there architectural websites to give me some clues?  I can't seem to find anything on the deeds, other than it is "anciene". I asked at our Mairie but the lady I spoke to looked at me as if I was completely barmy, although that may have been my French! Sarah
  2. Wow! So many p-d-c posters after such a desert! We have a weekend/school hols place in Beaurainville.  Son aged 7, daughter nearly 4.  Loads for them to do at that age round here thank goodness.  Has anyone tried horse-riding in the area and can recommend anywhere kid-friendly? Sarah
  3. We have visited our holiday home this week and have lost our BBC and ITV channels.  We view through a sky PACE minibox with one of those £30 FTV cards (ie no SKy subscription). We are still getting Ch4 and Ch5 and the rubbish channels, but no BBC channels or BBC radio stations or ITV.  Error message on channel comes up as " No signal being received". Have tried re-booting to no avail. Is this likely to be purely a case of having to adjust the dish, or have a got a bigger problem? Any ideas? Thanks. Sarah
  4. We are looking to replace 2 double gates and some fenceing - does anyone have any recommenrdations in Pas de Calais? Thanks!
