Could anyone inform us of how to find out about the electrical wiring requirements in France? We have a friend who is an electrician in the Uk and would like to find out more about the French system in order to help us. any advice would be most appreciated

we are just about to buy some property in Aubusson and have found that there are capricorn beetles in the beams in the barn. It is not too bad at this stage however has anyone else come across these and if so what treatment did you use?? In addition to this the land is covered with thistles has anyone got any tips for getting rid of these? thanks Paul      

My husband and I are about to purchase a property for renovation near Aubusson, in the Creuse region South West France. My husband is a builder and intends to carry out most of the work himself however we would appreciate some advice about local labour or is there anyone in the area that would be interested in some work?? Also in the long term does anyone know what the job prospects would be like for a good reliable builder? thank you Jo and Paul
