  2. I had been here fot 3 years before checking with impots cost to be taxed in france v u.k. and I estimated  a reduced tax if i changed to paying here.

I EVENTUALLY RECLAIMED MY TAX DIRECT FROM U.K. AND ELECTED TO PAY LOCALLY.

I ONLY THIS YEAR HAVE PAID TO IMPOTS 3 YEARS TAX,THE LAST PART NEXT MONTH FOR SOCIAL FOR 2003.

I HAD SOMEONE WHO COULD TRANSLATE MY QUESTIONS ACCOMPANY ME AT THE MEETINGS.

AFTER A LOT OF HOME WORK I ALMOST UNDERSTAND THE TAX SYTEM AS MINE IS BAICALLY A SMALL PENSION AND GOVERNMENT ONE ALSO.

RENTES VIAGERES WAS 50%AND I AM 67YEARS AND NOT 60% AS I READ IN ANOTHER FORUM LETTER.

DOES ANYONE KNOW IF I SHOULD BE PAYING C.S.G.OR CAN I CLAIM IT BACK?

  3. surely your saving on uk rates v french habitation and fonciere may make up the diference in budget.uss electric for heating at off-peak charge(creuse)and put timer plug to heat water you need -say 4 hours during night and top up if necessary at midday=if yiou have dishwasher use at same time ALSOTHE washing machine.buy insulation and double glaze as these may have a tax rebate unless stopped in your area.refer to your tax office.
you can also pay tax to France instead ofUK ,.DEPENDING ON YOUR FAMILY SIZE INCOME ETC. IT MAY BE 300 per annum less for example.ask your local office for an estimate and if cheaper then change.I CHANGED AND HAVE HAD REBATE FROM UK AND NOW PAY LOCALLY.ALSO YOU CAN PAY IN ARREARS. 2003 IS NOT DUE UNTIL 2004SEPTEMBER AND PART IN NOVEMBER.SO BANK YOUR ESTIMATED TAX -GET INTEREST ON IT AND PAY IT LATER.
    HOPE THIS HELPS.

  7. mjc asked where i got info.this was via tel.call to00441912187777 Social Security benefits agency.I do not mind contributing to this tax system but if it is not necessary why pay it.It was my Tresoir impot office who asked me whether any deduction was made from my pension.I like many others have paid all my taxes -never claimed any benefits all my working life but now on fixed pension have to seek any justifiable benefits
  8. i am to be taxed in france but find it very complex.latest question is whether before i get my pension is their a deduction in U.K. for CRDS(remboursement de la dette sociale).if so I do not fill in TL in 2042 declaration for 2003.Newcastle social office tell me that every person has a contribution from UK to France of 2500 per year towards E121 reciprocal health costs. Is this the same asCRDS?
