HI, We bought a Thomson tv lcd 2 yearsago and now out of guarantee by 8 months. we noticed in the centre of screen a slight shadow which shows when on a light backgrond of a film. It has not been cleaned incorectly and in fact themark is inside of screen. I took it back to the shop who sent it to Thomson. After chasing the shop for 6 weeks!!!!!!!!!they say Thomson have found the shadow on the inside but cannot rplace screen as they do not make them anymore-------------so their designerss make a =n expensive set which is obsolete within 3 years! I have to wait another 2 weeks until it is returned to me. my toshiba I brought from uk had given 10 yeOars and I only replaced it as the switch was defective and obsolete from suppliers. I HAD TO THUMP THE SET ON THE TOP TO GET IT TO WORK. IT IS OUTSIDE IN THE RAIN AND IMWOULD NOT BE SURPRISED IF IT STILL WORKED. I propose writing to their MD but have we any rights in France i.e.unfit for purpose???[:@][:(]

Hi, The above 2 items are giving problems since last week no ch5 tv received-have they gone bust? and poor reception on  CLASSIC FM -it keeps breaking up. we have done nothing to our set  and no interference from bushes trees etc. thanks and all other broadcasts receied ok

The shaft has 2 holes drilled through and one will be above and the other below the head-what are these for? thanks.

HI THANKS GLUESTICK, A GOOD NAME.-THE SHAFT IS TAPERED AND HEAD CANNOT NOW COME OFF ,BUT WHEN I SLIDE IT ON I NEED TO STOP IT SLIDING BACK DOWN TOWARDS MY HANDS WHEN IN USE-I.E.GIVING IT SOME WELLY!   Then I was thinking  to put a screw into the shaft at right angles to prevent  sliding and maybe maybe with some adhesive as well-epoxy or cyanoacrylate.[I]

 have a heavy hammer ,4-6 lbs. and the wooden handle is cracked. I was unable to find a wood replacement and had to get a plastic fibreglass one . does the head slide in use and can nail or a sellf tapping screw be used to stop the slide/

No pregnant cats around and mine newtered and dont think he would kill another kitten-I think it is something else -meanwhile evidence has disappeared -so another predater has ate them. thanks P.S.WHAT ABOUT RABBITS ALTHOUGH FEW SEEN IN OUR AREA ??

Hi,today  I found4 dead animals in garden which are 3 " long -look like new born as no hair and skin a silvery grey colour . 4 legs and ears like a small mole but not a long nose-could they be rabbits although none seen I have a cat an may be he caught them. Sorry unable to get photograph onto this  site. [:-))].

[8-)]I HAVE CURED LEAKS AND REPLACED TOP OF SAND FILTER. THE QUESTION I WOULD LIKE AN ANSWER TO IS AT WHAT TEMPERATURE DOES ALGAE COMMENCE TO GROW IN A SALT WATER SWIMMING POOL. THE LOCAL POOL SHOP ADVISED NOT STARTING UP YET AND I THINK THEY ARE WRONG TO WAIT UNTILWATER TEMPERATURE IS 18 CENTIGRADE. I DO NOT WANT TO SWIM AT 18--I PREFER 26CENTIGRADE MINIMUM!!![8-)]

When should you  open up your pool? Today  I was told that it is ok to leave until water temperature is at 18 centigrade.!!!!!!!!!!!! In the past I have started chlorinating and circulating the pool water when it was above 10 centigrade . thanks

Thanks for your sugestions.However after thinking about the possibility of the repair failing ,as water under pressure,I was worried I might wake up one morning and find I had drained a lot of water or in the event of being away on a holiday,perhaps returning to an empyt pool!!! That would give me a lot more problems than finding about 45-50euro for a new lid. I WILL LET YOU KNOW HOW I  FAIR.[:)]

AFTER PUTTING PUMPS ETC BACK ON AFTER WINTER I FOUND A SMALL CRACKNEAR THE PRESSUREGUAGE ON THE PLASTIC TOPOF THE SAND FILTER-A JUPITER 14  GLASSFIBRE MODELMODEL. IS IT POSSIBLE TO REPAIR WITH EPOXY -IAM NOT SURE WHAT TYPE THE PLASTIC IS-PROBABLY ACYLIC OR ??? OTHERWISE A NEW TOP NEEDED. THANK.[:(]

BECAREFULL IF YOU ARE PAINTING A LARGE POOL .I.E.IF YOU HAVE ANY FLAKING THEN YOU HAVE A LOT MORE COSTS THAN A DIY IN A BABY POOL. RETIRED PAINT CHEMIST.  

I have asked a supplier now what the second valve is for on the top of my Jupiter14 snd filter. Theysay this is to open to release air. Also the pressure guage is a special one for this model and costs 22euro +TVA.. ALSO A LEAKING BOTTOM PLUG COMPLETE WITH WASHER IS 14.37EURO AND YOU CANNOT BUY WASHER ONLY!! "o" rings the 10cm. joint used in  Clearwater electrolyser were 9euro +tva! they recommended tying to refit afer smearing with vaseline.When the rain stops I may trythis as well as PTFE TAPE.

Hi, I have just reconnected pump ,electrolyser etc after the winter .THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I HAVE DRAINED EVERYTHING.(In last 7years pump was  on during winter.) WATER ON CIRCULATION TO CHECK FOR ANY LEAKS ETC, HOWEVER NO PRESSURE SHOWING ON  SAND FILTER GUAGE!! I HAVE HEATER AND I CAN ADJUST THIS  TO WORK WHY?? THANKS.[8-)]

MY LAPTOPIS NORMALLY SWITCHED ON AND RESTING ON A ESK. TONIGHT IT CLOSED DOWN TWICE. THE BOTTOM WAS VERY HOT--COULD THIS BE DUE TO FLUFF/DUST ACCUMULATION? THANKS

I was told since it is an English registered vehicle that it needs a conformity certificate and that the headlights have to be changed or made to dip to the right hand side.The certificate may cost 120 euro?? thanks.

I also have bought a  right hand drive rRenault Espace Series 3 and been unable to get through by phone to find out what to do etc. Is the address in one of the above replies the same office for all of France and what is the cost? hi, TV IS LCD THOMSON SO I PRESUME IT IS SOME INSIDE PROBLEM-DO TV 'S HAVE PRODUCT RECALLS?

My son visited this weekend from uk and he gently touched the screen and it shows movement under the glass so i will go to tv shop tomorrow as I paid 750 euro for this thomson model and it is 6months past the2 year guarantee--do you think i should have it repaired free??
