  1. Advice please.........

In approx. 6 weeks we will be taking a trip from Moissac on the Canal de Garonne - making for Buzet-sur Baise.  At Buzet we need to make a major decision on which direction we then take and would welcome first hand recommenations from anyone who has cruised in the area.

Should we go south on the Baise towards Nerac and Condom or north east on the Lot towards Villeneuve....or north west on the Canal de Garonne towards Bordeaux...........decisions, decisions!  The other option would be to go south on the CdeG towards Toulouse........

Thanks in advance for useful tips.........

  2. I have searched this message board but am unable to find the answer to my question.........

We have recently had the prevailing end wall of our house re-rendered and crepied (Pierre) to match the rest of the house but the end stones (all dressed) were originally painted white with an exterior paint.  We would like to bring the stones back to the original Charante colour.

Needle peening with a compressor has been suggested then light sandpapering but I am afriad this will remove too much stone.

Apart from a wire brush, elbow grease and time does anyone know of an alternative "mechanical" way that the stones can be cleaned?

  3. I am fully aware that this question has probably been raised many times before but am unabke to find any "links".  It has a simple yes or no answer............

We purchased the TV for our French house last summer from Le Clerc.  We are returning to France next week and find that we have a spare UK VHS video recorder - which it would make sense to utilize but the question is will it work in France with the TV???

    Thanks.............

  4. We have been having problems getting some final issues clarified and resolved with a contractor.

It has been recommended that we utilize the services of a "mediator de justice".  The title is easy enough to understand but what is the procedure, costs, etc.

Also is we inform the contractor that this is our course of action I presume they could rectify the problems before we get to a "hearing"?
