Hi 1938, I may be wrong but I think you have to buy them by the square metre. My partner bought some recently ( in Brittany) and that was the way they were sold in Point P. Pennyf
  2. Miki, La Lycorne was ok on Saturday night - you were right - nothing to complain about but rather overpriced which wasn't a huge problem as we weren't paying!! Will now try some of your recommendations before our next non-paying guests arrive beginning of March - then off to one of the more expensive hosteleries Je pense!! If my son wants help with his wedding in June he knows the way to his mothers heart is through her stomach! Penny
  3. Hi, Thanks to everyone for all your wonderful suggestions for "eating out"! As it's one of our favourite pastimes I'm sure we'll get round to them all in due course - and with a bit of luck with so many family visiting we won't have to pay for all our delicious meals!! Many thanks again. Pennyf
  4. Hi Miki, Yes we have tried the creperie and it is good if somewhat limited in menu - haven't tried the pizza restaurant/hotel yet nor many other places in the Cancale/St.Malo area - too busy with "moving in". Did have a good lunch in Cancale a couple of weeks back - Cancale was lovely but food a bit pricey! We are trying La Lycorne in Dinan this weekend - picked at random for location and good looking menu - family arriving so need somewhere not a million miles away! Pennyf
  5. Hi Gay, Yes it is - Abri des Flots I think is the spelling - nicked this off the roadsign!! Not open at the moment though - undergoing a total renovation hopefully ready for the summer season. We ate there a couple of times whilst house hunting in the area and the food is excellent and just at the bottom of our lane - saves transportation worries! Pennyf
  6. Hi Pepito, We live in 22 but unfortuneatly too many kilometres from Corlay! Such a shame because this is just the sort of work we are looking for. We moved here recently after owning and running a gite in Normandy for 2 years so know all the ins and outs of the business. Really hope you manage to find someone. Pennyf
  7. Miki, Thanks for the reply. Yes, I know where Miniac Morvan is! We are actually in Mordreuc just outside Pleudihen. As for the job - I guess the best thing to do is keep your eyes and ears open and keep scouring the supermarket and garden centre notice boards!! Don't want a lot but after 2 years of being VERY busy "nothing" may be a bit difficult! Penny
  8. Have just moved to this lovely area near the river Rance and wondered if there is anyone living near? We moved here after spending two happy years running a gite in Normandy and this is supposed to be for "retirement" but I somehow can't imagine me doing nothing!! so does anyone know of the possibilities of a bit of part-time work around here - anything legal considered. Kind regards, pennyf
