I am just about to go to my new pad in Chamonix and fit some new ceiling lights and light switches. does anyone know a good book that explains the difference between french wires and Uk wires (colours etc) I have bought all the lights and switches from the UK and assume they will match up. but you know what the say about assumption. silly question i know but you have to start somewhere Thanks

Ok, we have just completed on our new apartment in Chamonix, this was the easiest house purchase i've ever had. now comes the tricky part. We are planning to do a season in Chamonix from December to April and need to take the car, apart from airport runs for friends we plan to have an explore of France and nieghbouring countries, my insurer, Bell are very  insistent on having a max of 90 days cover (30 days consecutive) which doesn't help us at all. Apart from cancelling my insurance, and getting french cover and then cancelling that on our return, does any one know of a good UK firm that will give me and my partner comp cover for the 4 months Thanks Paul
