  1. Hello all. I've got a question about tuna. Has anyone ever seen ahi tuna, also called "sushi" grade tuna in France? Most of what I see at the supermarche and the weekly marche in town bears no resemblance to the nice firm tuna "steaks" I can buy at home. Also, does anyone have a favorite method of preparing the thon sold at the marches? Thanks in advance, Janice
  2. Can someone please refresh my memory and tell me what time the intermarche grocery stores close on Saturdays?
  3. Therre's a wonderful new book out by Ina Caro entitled "The Road from the Past - Traveling through History in France" that I recommend highly. It covers Provence, Languedoc, the Dordogne, the Loire Valley and the Ile-de-France. Very interesting perspective. Published by Harcourt Brace in London. Enjoy, Janice

  5. Does anyone have a "secret" best way to get to Montpellier from London? I booked Ryanair but they just changed their departure/arrival times for their one flight daily and the new ones are terrible. You don't arrive in Montpellier until after 5:00 pm and the return gets you to Stansted at 6:30. Heaven help you if they don't take off on time! Thanks in advance, Janice
  6. Can anyone help with estimating monthly/annual living costs for France? What do you spend for two on food, car insurance, electricity, internet service and all of the other items that comprise daily life? Estimates or approximations will be fine. We're trying to "guess-timate" what we'll need for basics. We will be located near Clermont L'Herault. Thanks in advance.
  7. I'm trying to furnish a house in France from abroad. Has anyone ordered furniture over the internet from www.meubles.com, kozee.com or 123meubles.com? They LOOK good, but are they? Thanks.
