  1. I wonder if anyone has been sucessful in housing Bats in 'Bat Boxes'? I have put two up over the last few months and am waiting in anticipation to have occupants. I think July is the breeding season so I suppose I should not expect any just now but interested in knowing perhaps when they look for new roosting places.
  2. Thank you for all the ideas on ridding the garden of Knotweed. We have started the process which we think will take some months, if not years. Already, just burning the stuff seems to have made a huge difference. Just being careful not to spread the stuff to other areas.
  3. Many thanks for the replies of ideas/website. I feel we are more informed now to tackle the beast. Can I assume the french have no firm rules on its growing or spreading, unlike the UK? Again my thanks.
  4. I wonder if anyone has any ideas how to ride our garden of the (Japanese)Knot weed. We tried pulling up by root and burning the stalks but this just encouraged the weed to grow at full pelt! Returning to France later this month and really want to have another go at it. Thanks in advance.
  5. Saw English cheeses in Cora supermarket where I visit as a promotion. Cannt suggest anywhere for English food in Paris. However, do if you have time visit area 19. It is a colourful, lively place. Foods from across the globe can be seen, bought and sampled. Fantastic eating out places to find too. Great atmosphere there and the mixture of the cultures is something to enjoy. Have a nice trip.
