  1. Thanks guys. Sorry if it sounds like i'm asking for others to decide for me. I just feel down from what she said..i'm also ill, so that's not helping my mood. We are definately going to take several holidays in this area first to help us decide. We really want to move to France...just having trouble deciding where!
  2. We are planning to move to France in around 2 years. We had finallt decided on the south/south west of France. I told a friend this today (she lives abroad and has done in various places for 18 years).   She said she has lived in France for 3 years and hated it. She lived in the south, I forget where abouts she said. She said it's all really expensive and the weather is all over the place, the people don't want to know you unless you're rich and the expats are even worse. I'm very confused now as to what and where to go from here.
  3. Thank you. Renee I have replied to your email I hope you don't mind.   We were thinking that renting first until we find our dream house was a good idea aswell.
  4. @ getting a french lover, don't think my hubby will aprove, even if it is to help with my learning french!   Well at the moment we are unable to get to collage and we missed the enrolments for a french course at our local school, which started on monday. Hubby wants me to get him some audio tapes to listen to in the car and I think that type of thing along with dvd and books will be best for us.
  5. Learn French.   I've ordered several books to help in our research on france and I have ordered my children, who are 5 and 2, a dvd to help them learn french. But..... which is the best, fastest, cheapest (if possible!:blush for adults to learn french. We know a little but it's just the basics.
  6. Oh my..I have just read that thread, it was so long. well we have to years or more of planning to get through yet, so I don't feel I can make any comments on the thread I just read.
  7. Ooops! We are not sure on areas yet, but will be taking several holidays to help us decide which area we get the best feel from. My french isn't great, I only know the basics but we will be taking lessons. Hence why we've given ourselves 2 years to help research France and the language.   Any advice on any thing would be great, we just don't know where to start!
  8. Thanks Annabell. Didn't sound negative at all. We've just been having such a rubbish time in the uk for pretty much all ours lives and feel we need to make a new start some where else and away from here. We have been together for nearly 8 years and it's taken this long to realise we'd be much happier out of this country.
  9. It was just an idea more than any thing Annabell, thanks for your advice. We are not sure as to what jobs we can get/do when we finally move to france as, even though we have both worked, we don't have any specialist field of work.
  10. My husband and myself are in the begining stages or researching about france. We are looking to move over to france in around 2 years. I think we are looking to owning a gite or b+b and/or maybe a campsite. Do any of you have expierence with these? Any info on any aspect of relocating to France would be fab.   Thank you.
