We are just in the process of finishing renovations (La Creuse 23), and have also received our Taxe d'habitation with TV Liscense attached. We do not have any, tv, video, monitor etc, but we included a TV point on our plans... (not sure whether it has been completely fitted yet!). Does any body know whether this counts as having to pay the lisense?   Also, if it means we dont have to pay for lisense, can we just send a cheque for the Habitation amount(+letter stating we have no TV), or will this cause all sorts of administration problems!?  Thanks in anticipation maw

Have just discovered this site, it looks like it will be a Godsend! We are in the process of buying a house near Azerables (Creuse 23). We desperatly need to find a good builder/workmen.. the house is a renovation project. Although we would prefer to supervise all the work ourselves, our French is not good enough, and we are still living in England. Can anybody recommend a good builder, ideally somebody who can oversee the project. We would prefer to employ French workmen, but would also consider employing an English person to act as go-between. We'll be in La Souterraine 1st,2nd,3rd of December I did pick up a leaflet from CMP builders in La Souterraine, does any body know what their work is like? Regards Mark and Angela [email protected]
