For us 6KW is enough for a fully equipped house without electric heating, lived in by 2 persons, providing you switch on carefully. I have a monitor box to check consumption and very rarely get near full power. I do not like the idea of giving EDF money for nothing!

If you have any UK savings that are taxed at source - you must have completed FD5 to enable the tax on interest to be reclaimed. (UK savings organisation may not pay gross interest)

Reversible units attract tax rebates provided that they have a high enough COP (coefficient of performance) Our air/air units meet the requirements, are very effective and have cut down on the use of oil. The outside units are virtually silent.

Reminds me of a similar artwork I saw in Paris. That one was of someone walking out of a wall!
This one is checking wall insulation in preparation for providing a building energy certificate..

There are some cheaper games about that are French only....

SD,
I left box TL unfilled, the rest of the tax form was correctly filled in and generated the correct income tax and 11% on our unearned savings interest. No problem. The letter I received demanded the unpaid half percent CSG/CRDS on the whole of our pension income, because someone noticed box TL was not filled in and thought it should be. They seem not to know about E121s.
The social charges bit was referring to 2041GG.

Ron, The demand was for the half percent on our pension incomes for '05 and '06, not a small amount. The 11% was paid at the normal time with income tax.
SD, I followed your previous instructions religously, box TL was left blank. The fact that it was not completed was noted in the revision note from Ruffec Impots.

FF, is your tax office at Ruffec? I am going thro' the same performance. I had a demand for 2 year's back tax plus interest. After writing and quoting Form 2041GG and the European court ruling and stating that the tax was not imposable as I did not pay French social charges, I have now had a letter asking me to prove that I do not pay same! Latest is that I telephoned Newcastle and now await a letter proving I hold an E121....
Still raining, good weather for frogs though.

French telecomm companies have to unlock your phone for free, on request, after you have let your contract run for 6* months. (*reasonably sure!) Had no probs with Orange unlocking. Phone now got a Tesco card in, Phone language changed to English, but an odd bit of French creeps in...

I use a Honda V twin 36 inch cut on 2700 m2. Will collect, mulch, throw out at the rear and can take a trailer bar. Good at collecting leaves with cutter raised to full height.

Most shops that sell rugs in France will sell packs of rubberised netting to stop slipping. Buy, or cut to size a bit smaller than the rug. (Anti-glisse pour tapis) Wegot ours from 'St Maclou'

Frappe à froid sur le châssis = Chassis number punched on the chassis.....hit with a metal punch on cold metal, rather than engraved etc.

Live box and phones working well so far. If you look yourself up on 'pages jaunes' you should have your two numbers listed, FT and the batfone!

Have done this sucessfully some time ago in my work life. We had to buy specific dimmers that would work with transformers. No problems with bulb life, although the lamps were supposed to be run at full power occasionally to stop bulb blackening.

Go to www.toshiba.co.uk and to their download section. You should be able to find a manual for your computer there in English. Your French variant may vary slightly, but you should be able to find a near equivalent.
( My XP Toshiba was supplied with a system restore disk, drivers are in a directory on the C drive, updates are on the website).

And an efficient (not cheapo) heat heat pump will give out heat at one quarter the price of electricity. Ideal for those with limited elec supply, a useful 8 KW of heat from 2KW input. (Spec of our air/air system)

Try another insurance agent. When I first insured my Picasso the agent asked me how many years NCB, wrote it on her form and I got max bonus here!

With FT the Livebox automatically drops back to the FT line if the adsl or power goes off. I've left 'onetel' on the FT line to catch any calls that go that way. VOIP seems to work quite well, except that occasional local calls connect, but we cannot be heard by, but can hear, the other person.

This seems to be common practice for first orders from some 'distance suppliers' - proof of address and existance needed, is it something to do with the lower limits on French cards?

I've changed some duff Nicads for NiMh cells, they don't seem to worry about the charge circuit. Main thing is to keep the battery contacts clean, remove the batteries at the end of thje season and fully charge before re-use. Ours are around the pond - you get double the twinkle for your money!

I agree, don't buy a cheap tool, i bought a diy shed strimmer for my small UK garden, rubbish! I bought a Stihl hedge cutter, I'm well pleased with it, and propose to buy same make strimmer soon...

Try one of these:
