hi, can anyone help. am looking to buy something next year for ourselves, around the brittany/normandy/mayenne areas... wanting something with country around it but within  walking distance of small town or village that would have butchers/bakers etc and a few restaurants/bars as we would travel by car from manchester would be looking for something not too far from the ferry ports.. any ideas anyone regards, andy wood.

hi,   i am looking to purchase a house of some sort mainly for ourselves, in either mayenne area or into brittany or normandy... as we live in manchester at present it has to be near ferry ports or travelling would be too much by car. can anyone suggest any nice places - looking for something with country around it but within walking distance of small town/village that would have bakers/butchers etc and a few restaurants and bars. wouldnt want it to get too crowded in summer not asking too much i hope regards, andy
