We are still doing our research before taking the plunge and moving to France full time.  We haven't yet decided on an area. Basically, we are looking for an area that isn't too wet in the winter, (don't mind a little cold if it's sunnier than UK).  The Provence area doesn't really appeal as the summers are scorching and we aren't keen on the scrubby landscape.  Dordogne is apparantly very wet in the winter.  We are retired and want a little land for horses etc, so don't want clay soil.  Are we looking for the impossible? Any suggestions?
