  1. The card that I bought included 6Euros worth of calls and about 20 text messages. I only top up with 10 Euros at a time, which won't be to difficult to use up in the time limit. The saving is on incoming calls, no charges now from other french mobiles and the safeguard of not overspending
  2. I have recently bought a new french sim card from http://www.0044.co.uk/index.htm  , for my English mobile which saves a fortune on calls in france and calls received from the UK and France as you do not pay for incoming calls. I know this may not help with the cost of calls to the UK but as Mikki said it is 'pay as you go' and at least you can monitor the amount you are spending on your calls to the UK.
  3. I have used moneybookers many times for transferring money from the UK to France, my problem now, is can I do this in reverse. Moneybookers advise on the web site that all transfers are in Euros which is why I am a little confused. Has anybody done this type of transfer and did you have any additional charges.
  4. Thank you for that advice, but unfortunately I am still a little confused. I thought that when our current AOL was set up we gave address and telephone details etc etc as we pay 17 euros a month for up to 60 hours use a month. We have had additional charges (very small) on our France telcom bill for telechargements from the internet. Which is why I am thinking that I need to tell AOL of the change of telephone number. If it is possible to just plug into any telephone line I would really like to know. I am no computer expert, Tiffanys method sounds quite complicted with my computer knowledge I just need plug in turn on and go!
  5. We are moving house soon and I would like to keep my AOL email address, I don't seem to be able to find on AOL how I tell them of a change of telephone number. We wont be moving directly to our new house and may have to change the number twice in a short period of time, has anybody else done this recently?
  6. Thank you to those who took the time to reply, please excuse my late response I have been away for a couple of weeks. It would appear to be a very long process needing previous kennel experience of three years, taking qualifications in french, with no guarantee at the end that permission will be granted by the powers that be. Possibly after the kennels have been built. I realise that some members may not want to discuss these formalities as they fear competition but I just cannot believe that this procedure has been followed through in all cases. I have been looking for kennel advertising to see what people are claiming, licences etc but I don't seem to be able to find any from the usual sources.
  7. I would be very interested to know whether any one has opened a kennels, I have read some previous posts regarding regulations which sound very strict. I would be grateful for any information or advice on the subject.
  8. I saw a posting within the last three days with a situation vacant for a builder in lower Normandy. It has gone!! Has this posting been retracted or deleted? I would be interested in the contact email address given if any one took note of it
  9. Yes Jon, I did turn the box completly off from the power supply and left it for a few minutes before turning it back on again, in reply to Pauls question ch103 is not on the programme guide and if I put in 103 from the remote it reads channel not available. My BBC1 has reverted back to London area not the south west which was card setting. Thank you for your time and thoughts I was beginning to think that no one had any ideas! If all else fails I was thinking of sending the card back for a replacement but I havn't got a clue where to send it! Sally
  10. I have had the card for eight months, but last week for some reason the card no longer worked, I still have BBC1/2 various other channels and radio but no ITV. I have tried advice from previous posts re switching off the box cleaning the card etc to no avail. The system set up advises no card, and the screen shows initialising new card , which it is not! I did wonder as with previous posts whether the interactive service I have been using for the olympics has cut me off! The telephone number on the back of the card (blue with yellow house) is out of date . My daughter in England tried a couple of telephone numbers from sky where she was told the facility was being stopped. Does anybody have any ideas please? The olympics are good but I really would like ITV back Sally

    Sick every time

Does anyone have any ideas for a very car sick dog, today it only took three minutes in the car before it happened. She is a nervy eleven month old retriever, although she does not appear to be stressed she is obviously not keen to get in the car. Longer trips are a nightmare. We intend to seek some sort of medication from the vet for the longer trips but this will not help the short journeys. Any advice on this would be really welcome.
  12. I have also sent a message to your private box.
