  1. Just a quick word to say the dog has now been rehomed. we found out the other day but do not know where the new owner is
  2. Sorry Christine we don't have a digital camera but our friends do and unfortunately they are in the uk untill Sunday so untill they get back!  I can tell you for now she is quite a tall girl, white/tan with a patch over one eye She is still a baby and shouldn't be tied to a tree all day, it makes us so angry as we have 2 Irish Setters about the same size as this pointer (we don't even know her name) and the amount of exercise a large dog needs, I can't imagine how stressfull it must be for her!
  3. I live in department 17 dompierre sur charente. a friend of mine lives in nearby cherac between saintes and cognac and his neighbour has a 5 month old bitch Pointer needing a new home for free. the usual story a baby has come along and the dog is no longer part of the picture ! she currently spends most of her time tied to a tree in the garden in all weathers and this is no way for a lovely pet to spend its days. so a new home is urgently required to give this poor animal the life it deserves ! those interested contact me and i will pass on your details and information
  4. bonjour JJ i have had a new in ground pool installed and have been plagued with quite a few leaks. the builder (english) is on the case and recently tried the product. it cured the very small leaks, probably pin hole size but anything bigger it seems not to have cured. for me it seems the next step is excavating near the jets and skimmers to check the connections. failing that then the builder will have to renew the pipe runs !! fun eh !! hope you have better luck than me, my pool currently drops about 10-15mm every two hours when the pump is running !!   regards   kim
  5. As a new resident in france (all of 3 months) i am getting my first taste of the hunting season. whilst i acknowledge that hunting is a way of life over here i was under the impression that the majority of "kills" were for the family supper! is there some regulation as to what animals/birds can be shot or is there no limit to the carnage. i have been prompted to write this e-mail as tonight whilst walking my dogs i witnessed a "hunter" quietly sat at the edge of a wood picking off small birds as they flew over with scant regard as to whether they were injured or killed outright. i asked him what he was shooting at and having checked the dictionary it seemed to be blackbirds !!! if this is the norm for the hunting fraternity when all the larger sport such as partridge and pheasant have been wiped out then i feel dismayed at what the french hunters are allowed to shoot at next. has anyone any knowledge of rules or regulations (which i doubt exist) or what prey can fall into the sight of the hunters' guns!
