I've just realised I've spent the last two hours playing the buble game, so now I'm knackered, I'm going to bed - seems a great way to relax after a day at work - now is that invisible fairy going to do the washing up I forgot about?
-
I must be sooo sad, I never even knew these games existed! I thought my life was great with difficult spider solitaire. Having discovered these I can see my evenings will be spent slightly differently, when the OH is on nights....
Thank you all so much for letting me discover this amazing world of forget the washing/ironing/cleaning, far more entertaining!

a shower to clean off the ash left from the chimney sweep followed by a slice of toast with Marmite...

Bonsoir mes amies,
Sorry I've been away so long, first a visit to France - wasn't the snow in Limoges great last week Krusty, did you see it?Then I was given a virus, - not me the computer that is. Hope this finds you all well.
So Frenchie, how many songs have we left from Les Beatles? I think the pic is swell. For this pic I think how about Girl, Girl - I can not find that on the system but i am sure will be a copy of it somewhere.
xx

Merci Frenchie et bonsoir

Sorry Will, not been able to reply up to now, as said before, Oh is from Yorkshire and RW is not!
Mind you you can take the man out of Yorskshire, but not Yorkshire out of the man. He is a gentleman, and although will be hitting the half century this week, I know I'd rather have mine and be poor than Rw and rich (I think).

Hello all,
just a fleeting visit, as I must get some sleep. We had a bad night last night and spending half of it at Worcester Hospital is not my idea of fun - we had a few problems with sprog last night but she is ok now. i thought my days of chatting to the police at 4 in the morning were long gone (they were not with us).
Just one from my past and for you Twinkle
-
You of course would never say what a friend of my OH said some many years' ago as a chat up line in a disco in Yorkshire and wondered why his face was slapped -
'You don't sweat much for a fat lass'!! Thankfully my Yorkshire lad has never been so crude!
-
Thanks Twinkle - is your head still hurting from Ron and his Job needed back up the top of the discussion??

No. Mme Poivre, no problems
Good eveing all, Red Riding Hood has her cloak for Book Day, OH home from Yorkshire (he's 50 next week!), sprog out at Sea Cadets Meeting,oh the joys of the peace of the household.
It was certainly a Hard Days' Night. Can anyone find the Peter Seller's version - as done in the style of Laurence Olivier, one of the best I feel!!!
-
Hi,
just a fleeting visit inbetween work - have top make a red-riding cloak for a friend (Book Day) by tomorrow. Frenchie - all the musics from the 60's was great, and the late 50's as well, even some of the early 70's. I got lost in the 80's but with sprog now into my music I'm listening to more modern stuff as well.
Catch you later perhaps, have a good day, weather here not too bad at present. Cat Stevens - Morning has broken (Rick Wakeman playing piano).
-
Night Krusty, and Frenchie, I'd better go as well.

I've just logged on to this thread, read the whole lot and decided it would make a great script for a TV show, pass me another glass of wine, it might make sense?

Just received this one from a Friends in Cyprus, from their friends in Australia:
Caller calling Australia:
GOOD MORNING, WELCOME TO AUSTRALIA
Press 1 if you can speak English, press 2 to disconnect until you can -
only the Australians can come up with that one!
He also sent me the pics and the story about the lady with the hissing computer that suddenly wnet dead. When the engineer opened it up there was literally a snake inside! I have pics to prove (Australia again).

To punish him, he just winked, laughed and....

The junior member of the clan is a big beatles fan and this is one we have on our juke box here - an old Rowe Ami (looks like we'll have to sell it before we make the moves 'cos being so old, we don't think it will travel so well. All those 45's what'll I play them on?
-
Thank you Harvey, I'll try and make sense of it.

I have recently been told about new pension changes in 2010
I understand about the qualifying years - is it 30/32 years for both men and women? However, I am told the changes will bring significant changes to the payment of pensions for the future.
Does anybody actually know what the changes are (in short form) and how they will affect people in a few years time?
Thank you

Hope all are well and you all had good weekends - had a bee-keeping seminar on Sunday about bee diseases, hoping we can continue the bees in France.

Savings Account
in French Finance
Posted
This might have reared its head in the past, but sorry if I am repeating something.
We are looking to stash our savings - we will need an income whilst we live in France. However, we have yet to find mention of a savings account and roughly what sort of interest we can expect.
Our choice is to leave the savings in an account in Uk and draw out as needed per year, putting that money into our current account in France.
Stash it into something like income savings bonds, or
Stash it entirely into a French account, do they charge for savings accounts?.
I do not seem to see much advertising or promotion of French savings accounts, do they exist, do they have an account that pays interest per month/year?
Where do we start looking. We have a CA current account, but CA do not seem forthcoming.
Thanks
