My income is all from UK. I have to covert into euros, and my local tax office have told me to use 1.76 to the . This means a loss of appropx. 15%. I have not seen such a rate in two years, the highest being 1.63. Any comments. There must be many who have submitted tax returns. Info most appreciated.

I am resident in France, not property owner in France or England. My mother has left in her will her property to me. Does this mean that I would have to pay French tax, and if so the property would have to be sold to meet the bill.

Many thanks for the replies. Today I received my new passport- 9 days from date of despatch to Paris. I was in Boulogne yesterday, and I spoke to HM Immigration at Speedferries. They said they would accept Titre du Sejour with European driving licence. It would appear that some Government officials use common sense.

I received good advice re installing the above. After installing successfully the following message appears- A required DLL file WS2_32DLL was not found. O.K. Any ideas please.

Anyone tried to enter U.K. with Carte de Sejour (Titre de Sejour}. My passport expires next week and I want to visit U.K. Government websites advise everything except this type of information. My query by E-mail received the response 'how to apply for a passport'.

Can anyone advise on French satellite programmes. I would like the basic package plus some films and football. For my wife American films in Original version with sub-titles would be preferred. Any idea of approximate costs? Unable to find the above on the internet. Thanks
