  1. Hi, Its a Kawasaki ZRX1100, 1999 & I think 106 bhp.
  2. Has anyone successfully registered their bike here in France, just wondered what the actual process was and approx cost and timescale. Hopefully I wont have to change the speedo as it has kpm aswell as mph on it but obviously the headlight will have to be?
  3. When we moved into our barn conversion there was already a Godin woodburner in the dining room which was installed in a way that the flue went through the main bedroom which gives a nice temperature (not too hot for sleeping). So when it was time for us to put a new burner in the lounge, we got the installers to do the same with this one and it now goes through the second bedroom, so now the upstairs does get resonable heat without being too hot. Even the third bedroom doesn't stay that cold as the heat rises up the open stairs. We also have oil fired central heating but never use it, don't need to!
  4. Online at last (big problems with the phone line), I have emailed the photos to you Christine, thanks. Good news, the German Shepherd has been found a home so it is now just the Rottweiller to re-home, also looks like the owners move might be delayed due to an injury to her so we look to have a few more days.
  5. Hi, Thanks for coming back. The dogs belong to a french neighbour. They are apparently used to children also other dogs. As far as we know they are not chipped, jabbed etc but we will confirm this. The german shepherd is currently chained in a small outside building and the rott is chained next to her kennel in a lean-to building. We will try to get some photos organised asap.
  6. My mother-in-law has 4 young rabbits that require homes, they are about 5 months old. If you can give one or more of these a home please call Janet on 05 46 26 20 91. They are in dept 17 near St Jean D'Angely.
  7. By the way, both dogs are female, the forum software thought I was being rude when I stated a 'female dog', hence being bleeped out with the stars!!!
  8. Urhana is a 3 year old Rottweiller bitch who is desperate for a good home. She is good with men and women but not cats.   Iuna is a 10 year old German Shepherd bitch who is also good with people.   Her owner (a neighbour) is moving and cannot take them with her.   If no home if found before the end of next week (about the 15th Dec) both dogs will be put down which would be a terrible shame. If you can please contact by either email or PM.. We are on the 17/79 border near Chize, we are not a rescue centre, we are  just trying to help the neighbour re-home these dogs.
  9. Plasma's, LCD's ........Yeah, anyway, wot about b/w french channel problem???????
  10. So, do you think that a french dvd recorder would get us the colour picture on the french channels? Does any where do these on a basis where if it did not do the trick I could take it back? Or do I go the extra satellite just for the french channels, but again would that work on our PAL tv. I just want the cheapest easiest option to keep the kids watching french tele, thanks for the posts though.
  11. Does anyone know of any pottery suppliers that around the south deux-sevre region where my wife can purchase a kiln, potters wheel, clays etc. We know of one in Limoges but that is about 2 hours away, surely there must be one closer, Niort, La Rochelle maybe. Any info would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
  12. I have looked at our scart leads, even tried 3 different ones but still just b/w. There are 20 pins on the scarts, they are uk ones, are french ones different? Smiley, you said you have a uk tv and your setup works ok, is your tv like ours, PAL only, or is it SECAM aswell? We were in castorama today and noticed a cheap freeview french system on offer for about €30 (box & dish), we didn't go for it because we weren't sure that again this would work via our uk tv, any thoughts?
  13. Thanks for the input. The tv and video are presently connected via a scart so that hasn't helped unfortunately. We do not have a dvd recorder and that will probably set us back the same as a new tv. The new satellite plans seem like an option when it appears, as long as it will work via our tv.
  14. We have a uk tele that is PAL only, we have a french video that we have connected an ariel to and can pick up about 5 french channnels but the output is black & white on the tv. Is there a way that we can somehow pick up french channels via our skybox to get over this problem (sky output is fine) or is there a non contract french satellite system (we just want to buy the box with no monthly cost) that we can get a few french channels that would work on a PAL tv and run along with our sky box. We don't really want to buy a new tv if there is a way around the problem. The kids wont watch the b/w version and we think it important for them to watch as much as possible to help with the language etc (and us too!).
  15. Thanks for clearing that up, strange that you don't pay for the year you are in until late in the year! Bit different in the uk, they want the money before the years begun!! Yes, I will contact the notaire about this, thanks again.
  16. Could someone please tell me what the period is for our current (2006) taxe fonciere bill, is it for all this year (1 jan to 31 dec) or is it from October to October or is this bill for the coming year (2007)? Reason being, we bought our house in march 2006, at the signing the notaire asked for 10/12ths of the 2005 fonciere bill to be made payable to the seller, which we did. Now, we have just received a letter from the notaire asking for another 10/12ths of the 2006 bill as it looks like it went to the previous owner and he seems to of paid it. So we paid a large amount in march of this year and now (October) are going to have to find another similar amount. Has something got screwed up here, should we not of paid in march against a 2005 bill, hence the question about what period the bills relate to, confused, we are!!
