Bernice,
Thank you for the information.
My vet has quoted " about £60 ", and as he has already taken £600.00 from me for an operation on Honeys' cruciate ligament this year, I think the time has come to find a new vet.

The question should be, the passport is now full, and a "continuation" ? passport is required.

Since 2002 we have taken our dog to france either via ferry or Eurotunnel, 3/4 times a year, and at no time has she been scanned at the uk checkin. A cursory glance at her papers/ passport thats all.Arriving in France no check.(of the dog)Coming back,at the French checkin she has been scanned, and papers/ passport checked (very thoroughly) If all is not correct ie date/time of vaccination, you will not be allowed to board.Prior to coming back double check at the vets that date/time are correct.RegardsJOHND

I have used Terralit, this is made by Weber & Broutain, and cost about £8.00 per 25 kg sac, available throughout France.
Each region has its own colour (normally).
I usually slap it in the joint with a large sponge followed by cleaning off the excess with a wire brush.
This, Terralit, or similar products, is the best way of obtaining a constant coloured joint.

How do you define an unnecessary flight?

If the windows are high up towards the apex of the loft, give serious thought to ventilation,(This is what the windows were for origionally ) It is well nigh impossible to remove hot air from the apex of a loft, the use of extractor fans either end would make a tremendous difference in the height of summer. Set well back in the wall they would be barely visible.
Having used a ceiling fan in my own loft, which is totally useless, I wish I were in the position to do the above.
An alternative to fitting volets externally is fit internally.

Dogs Barking
in Pets
We have a holiday home in Dogsville, Lot
We are plaqued with continuously barking dogs. Whilst the obvious.answer is some lead in their ears ( just joking ) is there a whistle which would do the trick?
We normally take our Lhasa Apso with us, but fortunately she does not join in.

Our telebadge was obtained Sept 2001, failed June 2004
I sent it to Amiens, from the UK, and a new badge was received within five days, with no request for payment.
We are heading to the Lot in a fortnight, if I have the time will call in at the A26 office to find out if the batteries are replaceable by self

Here in the Lot I use terralit G. This gaves a constant colour, and is easily available. Obtain "Le Guide Weber" this gives all manner of building goodies.
Prior to the purchase of our property we were led to believe a standard fosse septique, buried fully below ground level at an approximate quoted cost of 5800 Euros, would be how we would deal with our...
When we bought our house in the Lot, the garden @7m.x 7m. was too small for a fosse septique, as well as being on a shelf of rock.
We fitted a fosse ettanche.( 3,000 litre ) As it is only used by the two of us plus the occasional visitor,( the house that is ) for three months a year it is emptied every year or so by a local farmer for about £40.
It only receives toilet waste, grey water is dispersed via a grease trap to a soakaway.
We will use the same method next door in the litle house, now referred to as the Summer Palace as it will be only used in the height of summer.
This time a 1,000 litre tank will be used to lessen the visual effect on the garden ( rock pile )
