Do you know if it is OK to take a hamster to France and back again in GB ? Of course it has no vet record or vaccins.

we arrived in Porstmouth and discovered that my husband's passeport was...out of date ! After a lot of "talking" with different P&O personel, I talked to someone very nice in customs and they explained the problem was not in fact with P&O or with England but with France as they might not allow us in the country, but we were allowed to take our chance. I then decided to phone the customs in France in Cherbourg and I explained the situation and they replied it should be OK, took our details etc.. Of course when we arrived in Cherbourg there was no checking of identity anywhere so there was not a problem. But it might be more difficult now for half-term ? Anyway try your best but remember the problem might be when you arrive in France.

any idea where best to park in/near port and cost ? I will need to leave my car for 8 nights.(crossing to Cherbourg)

Do you know of any "secure" parking in Cherbourg for a few weeks at a time ? Also Has anyone used the new multi-storey car park in Porstmouth ferry terminal ? Any idea of prices ?

I am a teacher and do frequent crossings Porstmouth-Cherbourg. Would anyone in a similar situation would like to team up with me to share costs of crossings ?

Do you know of any scheme where car drivers could offer foot passengers to cross with them as an extra car-passenger? I would have thought it would suit many people and save a lot of money all around. ?
