We have used all British paints - better the devil you know - we have had some good deals in Focus on Crown emulsion.
Re. Shutters - we had ours stripped - cost alot (186euros for 4 pairs)but it was a good job, we then used a woodstain bought again from Focus. So far they have stood up to the French weather. We also had the interiors doors treated the same way but waxed them. They look really good.

Thanks for this - I'll just have to wait for the previous owner to send me the bill.

I'm becoming more worried, we bought our maison secondaire (in the Indre area 16)in January 2004. We've not had either tax bill yet. I'm not really sure who I should contact about them. The estate agent we used told us that they would come automatically - but to which address?? Any suggestions???

Point taken, however, I have re-read Ryanair's T&C's. Name's may be changed upto 3 hours prior to departure. However the sting is that there is a charge of £45.00.
so if Clare H was to take this ticket it would cost £65.00 as opposed to £61.93 is booked today.

I called P&O yesterday asking the same question. I have quite a few points plus I'll have more after my trip to France next month. I was saving them for a trip over next Easter. According the person I spoke to - providing I book before the end of the year ( or as soon as possible after I return), then who ever takes over will honour my booking. She said that's about all she could say because they were as much in the dark as me.
So it's a case of watch this space, must admit that there hasn't been alot of press about this issue.

I'm new to thus forum. Having read this info about the new tax, I'm now getting a bit worried. We bought a house in January - however it appeared that there was a probelm with the fosse septic when we visited in February. When work was being done to install an additional bathroom, they found a major water leak plus a crack in the septic tank. We had to have the floor replaced in the dsownstairs bedroom. I tried to find out if we had any recourse against the previosu owner & the estate agent because they must have known something was amiss - but was told that it would take ages & be costly, so we cut our losses and threw in the towel. We have a quotation for the replacement, because the existing one does not comply with the new laws. We are still waiting for a ' cetificate' from technican d'assainissement.

When I was in Limoges airport in June I picked up a leaflet which stated that Flyme were going to be flying into Limoges from Southampton. However when I tried to get more information, was told that this had been shelved. Maybe they'll bring it to the table again next year with the changes with P&O wrc. it would be a much needed service.
