I could not agree with you more, We do tend to take our freedom for granted, I also feel for the new laws in the UK for the bully dog's that are facing being put to sleep, not all this breed are bad, But there again people and smaller dogs have been killed by out of control dogs, It is a crazy cruel world in so many ways.

Now before anyone comes on saying this should be in the Gardening section (The section no body has read since 2020) I have decided to put this offer in this section hoping those who will get the rewards from my idea, Here goes, I have read the section about folk who have the need to live what life they can "Because of disability, In fact in a sort of way we all will have a sort of disability by just getting older, (Finding we can not do those things we once took for granted such as bending/ Lifting / doing what once took an hour now takes a full day and the next day as we try to get out of bed find we are paying the price for yesterdays doing's ?? True or am I talking to the dead!! Please read what my idea is all about and take part, do not just sit there and say nothing, reply and let me know what you think? (please) I was thinking really as a start the Garden and how those who have disability may want to or at least be given the chance to do gardening "Even from a wheel chair" Now the raised bed gardening is a part of gardening that's within your reach (And that was not a pun) By making the bed area nice and narrow enough so you can reach to the center of the from both sides "in comfort without feeling strained, Same goes for watering, Enough space on both sides of the bed so you can enter/work /& exit the bed area in a wheel chair or even a walking frame, Have sitting /kneeling seating along each side of the bed's so you can have a relaxed feel to what your doing (and enjoy a cuppa) What you grow maybe limited "But that feeling of passing the time away in a productive way" is a reward worth having back in your life, Now i have talked about Gardening today, "But as far as other ways the disabled can enjoy using their time to get that feeling of self worth back extends to all kinds of things to do!!!!! From making once love stuff to look at it now ? Could be doing up old once loved kiddies three wheeled bikes to writing poetry ? Ive had a few poems put into print (And i did not ask I was asked could we add your poems to our book of poetry, And it was published, Well i have given the idea an airing "But those who have read what i have to say are not off the hook, NO NO NO, If you feel you have even more idea's to offer these disabled folk a new day ? Then lets hear your offer or are you blind but do have sight ? (Walk a mile in their shoes)

This forum is living proof that if you become to popular you have to watch your back or you will be singled out as some sort of threat, Read passed threads and see how many are no longer offering any comments? Well i need say no more about to days weather, It is cold and the sky says it all "Dull with that misty light rain, And so as i do not except that word (boredom) I have been looking at our plans for 2024, We both share the top half of the Barn, I have my section for the woodwork and projects i like to do in the warm and (she who must be obeyed) has the other half for her hobby, (Decoupage) We both like both attending the Brocante and we also have our own stall for the two weeks we're allowed to do each year, We like meeting other Ex-pats plus the buying the stock we sell, this is how the Decoupage came about, by buying old dark wood & changing it's look, Tobe honest the changing the look of the furniture has been very worthwhile and sells well to both ex-pats and the French and as i have said we have met some nice people, We got talking to one couple who had been living here a few years and the topic of what we missed from the UK we could not really find here in France, And i said i found the French sausages & Bacon we're not as good as Irish sausage /Bacon, The Lady agreed and gave me an "E mail "as to were to get via mail order, An Irish company that had monthly delivery of all kinds of meats etc and she had been dealing with this company for a long time & they we're 100% trust worthy, "Hence the chain saw was put away (and now i use Knife & fork to cut the sauaages) and now we get our sausages /Bacon and other meaty things from that company, And they are really a good taste, So that days Brocante was worth getting up at 5am and setting up by 7-30am, I am getting all the garden machines in the workshop in the next few days for the yearly service (oil change etc) and ready for the next years ground work, All the metal work of the window metal basket holders (painted) Plus all the plant pots & urns cleaned, the list is endless "But" a pleasure to be fit & able enough to do, I have come across a few people (ex-pats) who have asked me if I ever stop? No is my reply, And i have also met a few who tell me they get fed up in the winter when the weathers cold /wet and the TV. has only repeats. People who have this way of thinking remind me of that story, The one we're a man was complaining his feet hurt because he had no shoe's Then he was shown a man who had no feet ???????? Enough said?

Well i have had a really good afternoon in the workshop, Now (her indoors car) Is all clear for another 2yrs I have been cleaning and polishing my own car, the radio on with good old Irish music and the polisher doing the work i once did by hand and cloth, the shine is really good and better than when i did it all by hand, Every thing works the way it should and the leather seats have had a good clean, People have asked the question is living in France as you thought it would be? Well once again i must say every bit and more to our liking, the view's from the workshop of hills and fields and that knowing you made the right choice to come and live here, I have just been sitting in front of the wood burner along with my best friend laying in front of the fire sleeping and the two (once wild kittens who we managed to win over to be friendly) both laying on their bed cuddling each other, Who could ask for anything more? And tomorrow ? Well a new year and more of the same i hope "peace perfect peace, "

A really nice story, I agree regarding the wild life, if one thing makes me stand and look it is when the grue go flying past, A lovely sight, We have only three neighbors "All French" and to be honest it's been almost 19yrs we have lived in this old farmhouse and we could not have better neighbors, Have a nice 2024, (and feed the birds, they will thank you for it)

You would be better off knowing where your grease points on the 25yr old Kangoo are, The make is known for hand brake problems mostly due to lack of greasing and Yes there are greasing points on the Kangoo the wheels have grease points for a start.

A lot of people take driving or should I say being transported in what is a metal cage really for granted, Not a lot of thought into if the vehicle is not safe and would not stop when needed due to bad or no servicing/care of the vehicle /it's parts such as worn Tyre 's worn out brakes, bad lighting, the list never ends until the accident and then "after someones death or Injury the questions are asked "WHY" why did the driver not know the Tyre was bald ? Those brakes have not worked correctly for a long time.( That squeaking noise when brakes applied!!!!) it could'nt be metal hitting metal ??? It is the drivers job to know what he/she is driving and his lack of care only goes to show We need these vehicle test to get the vehicles on the road that are not road worthy off the road and the driver also off the road, Did you know it is the Law here in France to have Vis vest in your car for at least the driver ? But having said this just read the papers how many drivers have no Insurance or have never passed any test ? Never mind the Uninsured car And if you are not road worthy "even if you have an insurance active policy your NOT covered, People come to spend 6 and 6 months here in France without Informing their Insurance company they are here for a long stay (anything after 4 weeks is a long stay) and think they have insurance "until the claim goes in for damage etc and the fun then starts when the claim is refused due to no insurance cover for over seas cover after 4 weeks. Check your Insurance "give them a call and check out what i am saying !!!! It is worth a phone call for peace of mind, and check your car to see if it is safe,? Your life not mine.

Miles on your speed dial has nothing to do with pass or fail of the test, If you we're selling the vehicle and then it is a question that may be asked, The wear on the engine/ gear box And moving parts will be greater the miles the car has done, Why hide behind not just telling the examiner "it is not the first speedo (as your calling it) in the car? Why all the hiding the fact stuff?

Are sure your car has not got any? ie the the front bottom wishbone area ? When did you look at your owners manual book ? My wife's car is a Nissan x trail and that has a few grease nipples plus other things that if look after and given a little oil every year will give no problems such as the door/ boot locks , The things some people take for granted like the wheel nuts, /Wiper blades / battery terminals greased / Even wear on the Tyre's front to rear and rear to front ? You can save your self the cost of front Tyre wear due to the front Tyre's doing more work than the rear due to the front steering the vehicle and more wear here, by changing the front to the rear & the rear to the front you'll get a much more even "rubber wear, I could go on "But knowing we're your vehicle needs the greasing packing and use of the grease gun is something that is your interest in your vehicle" I have been a keen (petrol head) for years) and take pride and understanding what makes a vehicle work,

Hi menthe, Well today i did pop into the shed to see my friend Pomme and his owners grand daughter came up to me and thanked me for the bowl stand and said it was a smashing gift and she thought the bone style side hand grips we're a great idea, Then she said the stand was in their kitchen by Pomme's bed, so i can not take a picture of that one, But i have started a second stand for a friend and i will take a photo of that one, it is more or less the same idea "just the dog's name is "Rosco" It is a shame really because this dog is younger the Pomme But has liver problems and the vet has said it wont live very much longer, It really is such a nice dog and the owners are really nice people, So all i am waiting for is the wood dye and when that arrives (Monday so i am told) then i can both dye the frame and varnish it and with a bit of luck and the help of my wife get some photo's off to you, Talk to you soon,

Hello and on a very serious topic, I was reading the connection ex-pat news today and the news about a near miss of two planes in the French airport BORDEAUX, It was a very near miss and both Pilots had been given the all clear, One plane was on the tarmac (a two seating private plane with a father & his son they had been told by air control it was clear to take off, As they did just that "take off" above them coming in to land was a passenger easy jet passenger flight full of people about to land in the same lane as the private plane was, The Easy jet pilot could not see the private plane and was over this plane when the control tower gave the easy jet pilot the emergency cancel landing and he lifted the plane a short distance from the private plane he could not see and thanks to his skill nobody was hurt, My wife a short time ago told me she never wanted to ever fly again, and we both have been all over the world "flying many times" I myself served in the para's and parachuted many times, But these changing times with both climate changes and the problems we are seeing as a result and even after all the training the control people are given and modern tech, I do wonder how changing times seem to be, Even living in some people idea of a dream home by a flowing river with nature at your front door, would you buy such a house in such a location ?

11am appointment made for the car to be tested to get my little sticker to say for the next 2yrs it was safe at the time of testing, I spent yesterday Jet spraying all the underside and washing and polishing the body work and then the oil change/oil filter:air filter and greasing all the points Tyre's checked and the coolant /lights what could go wrong ?????? The test center is about 30min drive away, or should i say was 30min drive away !!!! The amount of speed ramps that have now been built has to be seen to be believed , But as always i like to be there early rather than late, Up and had breakfast and checked the bird feeders had plenty of sun flower seeds in them / water &/the balls of seed for the little birds, Gates open and the final check "My wallet, driving papers (Insurance / docs And the cars papers (registration doc's "Log book in the old way of saying it" It was then things started to go wrong, the car registration book was missing, I had it Pre bed time, But it had gone walkies & with out it no chance of any Nice little sticker for my wind screen, Well we both looked every place we thought it would be !!! The car's owners wallet !!!!" NO, the dash area !!!! NO, My wallet !!!!!! NO, (Times ticking away now) and then the glove dept !!!! NO And then (Her indoors asked Is this what your looking for??? Yes YES & another YES? It was in my inside jacket pocket all the time, We arrived with just 3mins to spare and then sat for an hour while the car was checked, The Inspector came into the office with his normal stiff face (in 19yrs i have never seen him smile, Not the sort of chap you'd invite to an happy hour) It was then he said i was looking forward to seeing your car , I enjoy doing cars like yours i do not see many like yours In fact yours is the only one i have seen, I am waiting for the Yes or No (has this car passed or not ?) And why did the french traffic dept issue that driver and passenger must be able to use these vest when a breakdown or a reason for being outside the vehicle during such times?
