  1. This was a plan from some time back, although in the hands of a journalist and their need to start arguments to sell copy or click bate people only to publish the inverse later to repeat sales. Why cant they just get proper jobs?  Energy syorage will be a huge planning issue going forawrd, you can store a lot of energy on an old coal mining site.  They wont need to expensive Li-ion but can be a lower cost less mined material batteries of which plenty of companies are exploring.

Cars sit still for around 90% of their time so usi g those at peak time means less power stations burning gas and very few on coal these days.

  2. From my time in the insurance industry I can say that life policies pay out on death. They will most times pay out on suicide as well provided the initial period is up, often a year or 13 months. people thinking of taking their lives often take out policies for the benefit of their family.

People worried about gene modified drugs dont seem to care as much about other things they put inside themselves, processed foods, man modified seed oils, emulsifiying agents, all known to upset your systems. Feeding their babies on milk powder formulas which set the babies on a path of ill health from the start of their lives.

  3. Poor 3 year old, nothing to protect them, hope they get over it quickly, the rest of you should be fine, apart from OH and me most of my family and friends have caught omicron although being pretty careful. Two who live on the side of a hill in Spain 1.2km from nearest neighbours. Kept away from everyone only shopping once a fourtnight both caught it as they both suffer with bad asthma they were very worried aboit contracting it. Took them about 4 days to get over it and symptoms were a very bad cold and some fever for a day, now both are fine. Thankfully nothing like the delta variant.  Good news is youll have great immune response afterwards so hopefully safer against other variants.

  4. Not just any motorist but someone with a blue badge. Unless there is something you've missed I would be dead before I would pay any fine. In the UK I have successfully won 2 out of two cases in the tribuneral rooms against the sly councils.

Yep, Sulphuric Acid.  Amazing stuff and yes, quite dangerous.

I'd have to use it about once every year or so to maintain clean flowing drains.  It was a life saver.  And, not one plumber we called out recommended it to us.

I would suggest there is an issue if you are having to use it even 1 per year, a bad run of pipe, too shallow a run or even a dip where water can sit.

Just to point out, Bleach is very unlikely to move a blockage, if you have used bleach first, DO NOT put acid down after as this would be very dangerous due to chlorine gas being released.

  6. I used to ski on the other side of the hill, in Italy, after a hard day skiing I and friends needed a full plate of food.

I agree the ban is pointless as the data has proven. Now coming to terms with possibly selling up.

  7. Makes sense, aside from the igniter I am incredibly surprised with the current draw. What is it running other than a fan, a feed mechanism for the pellets?

The problem with lead acid is whatever the stated amp rating you can only use 50% without damaging the battety. Others like lithium ion phosphate can use 90%.

I would not hesitate to simply replace the entire toilet and cistern. Accept that you will destroy the existing tiles and general structure and choose a new system that will satisfy your needs. Plan it carefully and expect to finish up with a highly desirable, modern, working toilet. I would try to design it so I had easy access for future maintenance.

Wasteful and daft when its a small job, still thats the world we live in these days.

It’s a nice gesture, but the trouble is that half the items in there are a heart attack on a plate - ‘Blanquette de Canards aux Cepes’.  They’re trying to kill us off, so less cost in 2022.

No actual link to eating fat and heart attacks, sadly that misinformation should have been laid to rest and is from the good old US of A. It was referred to as the french paradox, how can they eat so much fat and cheese but have low incidence of heart disease. Or the shorter version, how America got it so wrong, down to a bloke called Ancel Keys.

And may I be allowed to travel to France again soon...

We should be as it wont make a jot of difference to France as they report 208,000 cases yesterday and omicron is just a fluey cold for 3-4 days. However the stupid leaders of countries must be seen to do something like blaming neighbouring countries which fuels the tribal in some.

  11. Considering France has recorded 90k new cases without your journey and with its current restrictions but those travelling will be the ones fully tested, it is completely pointless. Also as South Africa and the UK let alone the French neighbouring counyries will attest to omicron symptoms being very mild with most having a 3-4 day cold with some muscle ache, what is all the fuss about?

  12. Clearly testing doesn't work. Whats the point, I mean if you have no symptoms, you take a test before travelling, take a test shortly after arriving then you haven't got covid in any form. Then we have France and the numbers of delta cases is about the same, then Holland and Belgium, France's neighbours whom also have covid and the omicron variant in big numbers.

Big omicron numbers but where are the big hospitalisation numbers?  If it wouldn't mess up Christmas plans I would be looking to get omicron, low symptoms and great antibodies, a gift to end covid!  But then we have politicians on both sides of the channel. I believe in the UK the scare stories and ridiculous projections are just there to motivate people into getting the booster/ second dose/first in some cases.
