(like the quote - I'd hoped to highlight the bit I was replying to).
The only way I can see to do that is to select it, copy then paste - but then you end up with this situation having clicked on Quote. So perhaps best to do this and use Reply to Topic instead and you could add some quotes around it manually I suppose. Problem is Reply to Topic is in the Topic Options at the Top and not near the item you want to reply to. Think I'm still in the right place!!

The company I used last was local to me in Kent (Ton Hire), however I did enquire at Thrifty and and there was no problem taking theirs out of the country.
For all you ‘lucky’ people with Windows XP both home and Pro versions. Service Pack 2 is now available and as well as installing all up to date security packs also installs
As I mentioned on a another thread and just as a word of warning. I installed it only to find I couldn't collect emails or connect to another forum. Eventually I deinstalled my Zone Alarms Firewall and everything worked again. Not suggesting it was SP2's fault, just that in my case it conflicted with other software.

For info, over the weekend have got over a problem with XP SP2 clashing with Zone Alarm. The service pack upgrade seemed to be blocking me from accessing my ISP for email and another forum (also had a problem with this one, but this was ID related). Shut down Zone Alarm and all ok again, so have temporarily uninstalled it.
Cheers everyone... didn't know French TV's wrere multi-standard by default. George, if you can let me have your model details, I'd appreciate it... Thanks again....
Sorry for delay went back to France for a week. Model no. is Thomson 14MG131G, bought on the Internet from unbeatable.co.uk for around £79 last May

You can of course purchase a 1 to 2 or more scart adapter. these are available switched or not. In the UK, Maplins have them.
As to models, some time ago I did some research and discovered that Thompson did a portable model 14" I think, available UK and in France. Slight difference in numbers, but internet research showed model specs to be the same. Anyway, took a chance and purchased via Internet cheaper than buying in France. Set the machine up in UK, all was fine and next visit to France just plugged in allowed it to auto retune itself and get an excellent picture.
If you're interested will find details of model and supplier info.

I'm not sure this is going to sound helpful or not. There is no short answer, as it depends on a number of factors such as, if any reformatting has taken place. It is likely that this would happen when using the Tiny system disk, but not necessarilly so and also what if any space was available. Like John, I too am curious to know why you chose to repartition the disk, unless it was to run with the option of two different operating systems. I suspect not and therefore for future reference feel it would have been better to install a second hard drive, one for the operating system and one for data.
As to Vogon, they offer an excellent service, but expensive. Only you can decide if its worth it. You may now have nothing to lose but try the recovery options you have found.
There is much information about partitoning available, the following link might give some added info.

I fear the worst, but wish you luck.

It depends on which type of card, but have found the following to be useful. They are based in Jersey I think and post to UK or France

Is there anyway that someone could put a handy link on this forum to a department map with numbers as a pop up? Keep forgetting to have my printed map with me.

All of Scalehills advice applies and then there are cheaper programs with Templates that you can use to get started.
Serif Page Plus or Web Plus comes to mind and many of the magazines have front cover CD's with older versions of these for free, which require just registration. There is also Microsoft's Publisher and several others.

Why not simply compose your reply in Word or other word processor and then cut and paste into the reply - after spell checking.

That evil b......d has finally been found guilty. String of previous sexual allegations and acts with young girls. May he rot in hell.
Lots of journalists milking it and stringing it out with insensitivities such as "do you think we / they can move on now"... "time for closure" etc. I hope it never happens to them. I weep for the parents who will never be able to do either.
One more pervert off the streets for good anyhow.

Is there some sabbotage going on - there seem to have been many problems with the Forum lately. I know we had a couple of loonies posting at one time - but I suppose you get those every so often?

At the top of each forum there is a "button" to Mark messages as read. Or in the Lobby there is a similar "button" to Mark All messages as read. Next time you look only the newer ones will be flagged yellow.

How odd? Had I the time a couple of days ago I was thinking of congratulating the organisers on the increase in speed!! I have used it here at work a few times, but thats on a T1 leased line, but have also been using it from home on a 56k modem connecting at 44k with no significant difference.
Guess it must be the time of day and sheer luck? Must try the lottery again

Anybody have any thoughts on user profiles eg any past problems? Not many people seem to use them, a shame really, as I feel there are occasions when it could be useful?

"OK. Is this some sort of intelligence test. Where is the button to reply without a quote?
When I try to logout, a message says something along the lines of "if you have chosen automated logon........" What automated logon, no mention of this facility in the obvious (sic) place, the Control Panel.
I await the response to this installment with bated breath."
The Reply Option is on the Red bar right at the top of the topic marked Topic Options. If you click on that then you will see some options. I guess the automated logon is the bit where when you first go into the forum there is an option to tick a box to say log on automatically next time (or something like that, can't see without logging out and back in again)
Hey Will, think I've cracked it
