    The Arras Tourist Office came up trumps! They sent me a spreadsheet of hotels, bars and restaurants and their opening hours for 24-25th Dec and 31st Dec-1st Jan. Winner winner, Christmas dinner!

    Arras is a lovely town to visit and a great hub for exploring WW1 war sites. I stayed at the Ibis too which is perfectly located for town centre bars and restaurants. My issue is more to do with finding somewhere to eat and drink on December 25th.

    Hello, I want to get away from things in the UK this Christmas and spend some me time as things are very stressful at home. I had an idea of spending Christmas in France, particularly Arras. Staying in an Ibis/Campanile type hotel and eating in bars/restaurants. Probably between the dates of 23-26 December. Does France close down over the Christmas period or wil I still be able to find somewhere to eat and sleep? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Nick.
