  1. Has anyone used the Santander app 'One Pay FX' to pay a bill, from their Santander Bank account, to a French company or business requesting a payment ? If so, how easy or difficult was it ? Any help appreciated.
  2. Thanks for the prompt reply. Unfortunately we don't have a French bank account. Is the practice of self- removable ribs covered under the E111 card ?
  3. My wife was taken ill in France, gave her E111 details at reception and treated at Montmorillon Hospital earlier this year. Today, five months on, we have had a bill from the Hospital. There is a 'Talon de Paiement' attached to the bill but I'm not sure which way is easiest, acceptable and best way to send money for a relatively small amount. The Hospital address is at the top left of the bill, there is an address of the Tresorerie Poitiers to the right of that but the Talon has an address of the Centre D'Encaisdsement in Lille. Could anyone please advise which is the best way to pay the bill and where is the most likely address to send it ? Any help appreciated.
  4. I wondered if you would help pet owners by giving Vet details of the ones you have used and would recommend for the Pet Passport scheme when returning to the UK. I have a Google Map of Vets recommended by Motorhome owners and would like to increase the choice Dog owners have of finding Vets close to where they are when away on Holiday. If you would be kind enough to help could you give the Vets name, address, cost of treatment for the Pet Passport and if possible opening hours and I'll add the Vet to the Map. Any help appreciated. This is the link to my map of recommended Vets in Europe - https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?msa=0&mid=zTPBDq9Df4L4.kSm3eLuvVb2g
  5. Thanks for your replies. We went through this procedure a few years back when SWMBO tripped over a kerb stone and damaged a finger (no, as you've asked - she wasn't drunk – that was later !) We showed the EHIC at the Hospital, had treatment, were sent a bill, paid the bill and reclaimed the money from the NHS – but at that time she was well below 70 years old. Six weeks on we haven't received a bill and on the first occasion the bill arrived very quickly. The Pharmacy charge was minimal and not worth pursuing but six hours of treatment should be quite a substantial sum. If I do hear anything I'll update this post but in the meantime thanks for your input.
  6. About six weeks ago while we were on holiday my wife was advised by a French Doctor that she needed a Hospital assessment for an illness and she was advised to go to the A&E (Les Urgences) in Montmorillon Centre Hospitalier near Poitiers. She reported to Reception and they took details and noted the information on her EHIC. She spent six hours in the Hospital – blood tests, X-rays, etc and she was monitored throughout her stay. Eventually after giving her anti-biotic she was released at around 10 pm that evening with a prescription to be presented to a Pharmacie the next day. At no point were we asked for money or Credit Card at the Hospital. Both of us are over 70 and I was informed recently that anyone over 70 would not be billed for her visit and treatment. Is that information correct ? Any help appreciated.
