Just an aside to the OP. If the pension comes from Teachers Pensions it is a Government pension and as such cannot be taxed in France. It has to be taxed in the U.K.

We can advise you that the British Embassy have confirmed to us that the attestation will be required for UK passport holders travelling to France for private visits to friends and family where they do not have accommodation, such as a gîte, hotel, Airbnb etc, booked.

Whilst exempt from needing a visa for trips of under 3 months, the attestation will be required.

I have no intention of voting in the U.K. in the future. I last lived there a long time ago, left my ‘home’ area years before that and visit once in a blue moon. What happens locally in France us much more important to me.

There was so much interest in it the estate agents asked all the serious parties to send their offers in by the beginning of the following week. It’s the CdS issued to British citizens who were resident in France before 31/12/2020. It has a number of benefits that British citizens arriving after that date will not enjoy.
