  1. I don't think it's a scam but the buyer sent me several lots of forms to sign after he returned to Paris, so I assume he failed to register it and carried on using it for 2 years. I'm not sure how he got away with that? All I did was send a green slip to DVLA to say the car was permanently exported and enclosed a letter with the buyers details. The use of Internet advertising places a shop window to the world, so it's not unusual to get foreign interest on a rare and desirable item for sale.
  2. It states on the letter according to code de route articles L325-6 L325-7 L325-8 I have looked these up and used google translate to establish that it was abandoned and will be sold as state furniture or destroyed after 30 days. Should I ignore it? I wouldn't mind having the car back as it was superb when I sold it and it's worth far more than the €300 they seem to require.
  3. I do not know how to post a picture and asked if anyone can enlighten me? The car was sold in the UK to the Paris resident. He later sent me forms to sign in order to register it in France. But he obviously did not do that. I have found him on Facebook as he he has a very unusual name. He is now living in Shanghai and has a very highly paid job (he worked for Goldman Sachs in Paris) I suspect he dumped the car as he felt he couldn't be tracked to China.
  4. Hi everyone and thanks for advice and scaring me! I shall try and get the letter translated as I can't seem to post a pic here :( It was sold to a Chinese guy living and working in Paris but he's probably fled to China now and dumped the car in Paris as there is a mention of abandoned in the letter.
  5. Hi, I got this letter to my UK address and don't understand what it's about? It relates to an English registered car I sold to a French resident 2 years ago.
  6. Thank you guys for the advice :) it seems then I need to make the 1200 mile journey to pay these bills :( I can't believe it's not possible to phone and pay by card!
  7. Is this possible as I don't have French bank account yet? I am overdue and know there will be a penalty to pay but apart from going over to France there must be a way to pay from Spain? Thanks
  8. I'm sure the pugs will be worried!
  9. Maybe Adolf would be a more appropriate name for him (and his owner) my dog is called Peter and he's a fawn pug with a few black bits.
