Hi all.Has anyone else had a problem accessing french-property.com website today?thanks
-
Dear all - I am completing my second tax return, and had hoped to just copy last years. But . . . on Form 2042 last year there was a box BL where my total rental income went (above box TQ, described as Recettes nettes percues en 2005 soumises a la contribution sur les revenus locatifs de 2.5%).On this years version it is no longer there. Is there somewhere else to enter this figure?I also complete 2042CK boxes NO and OO.thanks!!

We use Britline (Credit Agricole), www.britline.com, many are not happy with them, but we are, and we opened the account from the UK and run it on-line from the Uk too.
-
We used and English speaking French lawyer, as I had been married before and we wanted reassurance that we were purchasing using the most effective regime.
-
Pierre - I was wondering how you'd done!! Great stuff. Hope I'm the same next Tuesday!!
-
Not exactly answering your question, I have rung (and then faxed) CA Britline and using my UK IBAN code they have wired money to the UK for me. And a good exchange rate. There was a charge of a few ?€15

When we were looking in Manche I rang/emailed and I was able to arrange appointments early evening and Saturday. Just ask - all they can do is say 'non'! Good luck and enjoy!

For us it was location, location, location that was the key. Walkable to shops/bar/resto but detached. Our cottage is about 100 yrs old and that is perfect!!

Just had a thought - do you and your daughter use the same firewall/virus software?
-
ah . . . you're not running Vista are you? Since I installed it I've had no manner of problems . . . Does your PC and your daughter's laptop use the same version of Windows?
Have you de-installed and re-installed the router?
-
Hi. We use the same kit you mention. Do you think that this is a loss of wireless signal? We live in a stone house and do need to watch where we use the laptop from. Keeping an eye of the icon in the taskbar is about the only way of knowing if signal has been lost. When you use your daughter's laptop are you using the same wireless adaptor as you use in your pc?

Hi! Could any of you good people suggest shops that we can buy a wooden summerhouse/garden shed from? We are in La Haye du Puits, 40km south of Cherbourg. Thanks
-
Thanks for the update. As it is such a useful feature, are you looking at bringing it back once the bug is fixed?
-
Wow - there are some great ones of La Haye du Puits - the old station looks great!! Thanks!

I get poorly even when the boat is docked . . . I take a prescription (in the UK) drug that you stick under your upper lip so it is absorbed into the bloodstream directly rather than via the stomach. It works for me - prochlorperazine maleate buccal tablets. I believe they are mainly used by migraine sufferers. I do also hold with the ginger - flat ginger ale in my case!!!Good Luck - it's not much fun!

Rob - I have tried, but to get the different currency accounts I had to have 2 email addresses, it got to confusing. Moneybookers as mentioned above works in a similar way to paypal - you can email money as well as transfer. The fee is low, and you get a good currency exchange rate. www.moneybookers.com is what I use for small (less than €5000) amounts.

I can relate to the 'expensive hobby' poster!!Norris Cole eh - now there's an image!! [:D]
-
oh - and she's only just been serviced too . . . . .
-
Spot on, within about 10 days of my original post the emails dried up. And at no point did I have trouble sending/receiving 'proper' messages!!

We are west of Carentan, and like Coco haven't really seen any change. Many visitors still drive from Calais or Caen.
-
Will - like the summary of the loading arrangements - we honestly thought we'd be driving all the way we just kept on going up!!!
-
LlwyncelynKnow what you mean - we did the Poole/Cherbourg on the Bretagne a couple of weeks ago, and it all went wrong when we had a tortuous drive up through the bowels of the boat (ship ?) to the food, like you! It was finally topped off by a huge wait to disembark and I think there were about 20 cars on . . . . can't wait for the good old Barfleur!! [:)]
-
Yep - and Pont de Normandie (sp) was well worth the toll. mind you - a little worrying to find their was a pedestrian pavement next to us cars!!!
-
DickLast year we went via Dover rather than Poole/Cherbourg, for fun . . . . Really enjoyed the trip down the autoroute. If you would like the exact toll costs I'll look them up for you. However . . . am v v worried, as we went to Caen and I don't remember Rouen - should I? (The trip took 3.5 hours) [8-)]
