  1. Hi! I completed my tax return on line - I think [:)] my question - when should I hear what tax I owe? I am paying a monthly amount, based on 2005 return, but I know that I will owe more. Do I have to pay the additional amount as a one-off or can I pay that monthly too?

    Thanks all as ever!

  2. Dear all - I am completing my second tax return, and had hoped to just copy last years. But  . . .  on Form 2042 last year there was a box BL where my total rental income went (above box TQ, described as Recettes nettes percues en 2005 soumises a la contribution sur les revenus locatifs de 2.5%).

On this years version it is no longer there. Is there somewhere else to enter this figure?

I also complete 2042CK boxes NO and OO.

    thanks!!

  3. Not exactly answering your question, I have rung (and then faxed) CA Britline and using my UK IBAN code they have wired money to the UK for me. And a good exchange rate. There was a charge of a few ?€15

  4. I get poorly even when the boat is docked . . .  I take a prescription (in the UK) drug that you stick under your upper lip so it is absorbed into the bloodstream directly rather than via the stomach. It works for me - prochlorperazine maleate buccal tablets. I believe they are mainly used by migraine sufferers. I do also hold with the ginger - flat ginger ale in my case!!!

Good Luck - it's not much fun!

  5. Rob - I have tried, but to get the different currency accounts I had to have 2 email addresses, it got to confusing. Moneybookers as mentioned above works in a similar way to paypal - you can email money as well as transfer. The fee is low, and you get a good currency exchange rate. www.moneybookers.com is what I use for small (less than €5000) amounts.

Know what you mean - we did the Poole/Cherbourg on the Bretagne a couple of weeks ago, and it all went wrong when we had a tortuous drive up through the bowels of the boat (ship ?) to the food, like you! It was finally topped off by a huge wait to disembark and I think there were about 20 cars on . . . .  can't wait for the good old Barfleur!! [:)]
